Global Medical Director Medical Affairs Sanofi Cambridge

In a matrix environment, the Medical Director for Global Medical Affairs will perform a key role in the clinical and commercial development of Aubagio in MS, through strategic alignment and execution of activities related to investigator and expert outreach, investigator sponsored trials, company sponsored non-registration trials, publication planning, CME, grants, sponsorships. As part of the execution of Sanofi Genzyme strategy, he/she will work closely with the leadership of Sanofi Genzyme's Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Commercial and Product Management functions.
Job Responsibilities:
Supports the Global initiative for MS thought leader relationship-building. The Medical Director is responsible for cultivating current and future MS experts in academic and clinical medicine at regional and national levels. Through these relationships, the Director will gain meaningful expert insights that influence priority areas of the product Life Cycle Planning team in support of business, clinical and scientific strategy.
Contributes to the strategy of the brand, taking into account the B/R profile of the drug to optimize brand success in a highly competitive environment, in close collaboration with Global Marketing.
Defines and develops KOL management plan with top 20 KOLs, ensuring recommendations are acknowledged in our plans; develops best knowledge of the brand with top 60 KOLs to ensure accurate communication;
Works closely with Clinical, Pharmacovigilance, Statistics to ensure best post-hoc analyses of the data, B/R profile, target population, to build foundation and differentiation of the brand;
Defines communication strategy together with internal contributors, Communication Director and Agencies;
Liaises with MS Regional Medical Directors and the US Medical Brand Leads to ensure fluid scientific communication, satisfy medical needs to help in medical education, market access and commercial success;
Defines and respects timelines and budgets;
Establishes strong network between all team members.
Ensures internal knowledge on key projects by communicating on activities, key results, project updates; as well as external meetings as close partner to top KOLs,
Works closely with Agencies for all activities which are outsourced, together with Purchasing, Controlling, Legal, etc; has responsibility for the financial management of the project including budget planning and preparation of monthly reports,
Marketing support including customer meetings, presentations, promotional material, and representative training in relation with the projects.
Provides medical input in to Global Marketing, Market Access, Sales, HEOR initiatives/projects

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Advanced degree (M.D., PhD or PharmD)
At least three years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs, with experience working with cross-functional in-house and field-based teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Physician Neurology board certified/eligible
Expertise in Multiple Sclerosis
Experience in both clinical development and patient care
Excellent interpersonal skills
