Director of Strategy and Analysis supports the ongoing operations and strategic projects of the global, multi-disciplinary team which provides the media management, post production, broadcast operations, engineering, and satellite distribution services to deliver Discovery’s linear and non-linear content around the world. This position provides project management, operational analysis, and operational reporting designed to inform strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:

1. Provide project management, support, and leadership for cross-departmental strategic projects designed to increase operational effectiveness
2. Provide workflow and cost analyses to assess and adapt operational functions
3. Collect, analyse, and present volume and cost driver information for ongoing global post production, network operations, origination, distribution, and non-linear functions
4. Provide management support for departmental budgetary management to include monthly and annual global operating and capital planning
5. Develop activity based rate models for production functions
6. Provide and analyze critical operational performance information (Global Broadcast Reliability, Discrepancy information) to drive performance improvements
Requirements:

* Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA / Master’s Degree preferred
* Minimum 8 years business experience
* Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
* Proven project management skills
* Working experience supporting and leading cross-functional and/or global teams
* Experience in media operations and delivery workflows and associated technology solutions is preferred
* Demonstrated ability to build, deliver, and maintain tools required to assess and track diverse set of global operational data to inform decision making
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Technology and Skills Requirements
* 8 years of experience in operations management, management consulting, technology planning & strategy, project management, financial planning & analysis, or a related field
* Demonstrated project management of large-scale projects
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Adept in creating and delivering presentations for executive management using PowerPoint or other similar programs
* Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; mastery of formulas, formatting, pivot tables, and data analysis and modeling techniques
* Understanding of financial and managerial accounting concepts
* Excellent time management and team management skills
* Understanding of Broadcast and Media Operations technology and operations is a plus
* Understanding of relational database concepts
* Proficiency with data visualization techniques is required. Experience with or ability to learn Tableau software is required
