This new role will be collaborating with US based executive management team as well as Korean headquarters; the Director will create and manage high-impact programs for product promotion and corporate visibility through diverse communication channels such as the web, events, social media, collateral and press/analyst relationships. This person will be responsible for driving the external messaging for Samsung‘s North America components divisions, developing and executing strategic communication plans that support company goals.
Job Responsibilities
Drive MarComm (Marketing and Communications) activity for Samsung’s Device Solutions (Memory, Display, LED, SLSI, Foundry) in the Americas.
Liaison with US Samsung division counterparts, Headquarters communication departments in Korea. As well as Headquarters public relations/marketing communications teams to ensure synergy and alignment on programs, messaging and goals.
Continue to build internet presence through the Company’s social media channels, digital marketing program and website.
Drive the company’s global thought leadership through participation in speaking opportunities at conferences, trade shows, Samsung-sponsored events, and customer events.
Responsible for managing the public relations efforts and the content it delivers to ensures key messages support and enhance corporate visibility among targeted stakeholders.
Define MarCom/PR performance metrics, execute the measurement process, identify and report on the areas of success and improvement
Work closely with the company’s senior leadership to define, develop, and manage company product positioning and corporate identity.
Actively work with key stakeholders in government affairs/NGO, community affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility/STEM programs to further develop the Company’s visibility in Silicon Valley.
Manage existing MarCom/PR team, agencies and contractors to ensure that all programs meet project objectives, budgets and timelines.
Job Requirements
BA/BS required
Recent/relevant experience in high tech industry
Proven track record of leading a team and developing employees.
Demonstrated track record of successful marketing campaigns.
Executive presence with internal executives and external stakeholders.
Strong leader and team builder with excellent analytical, communication and people skills
Independent , self-starter with the ability to work with and influence all levels of management and personnel
Demonstrated ability to take direct responsibility for the execution and delivery through hands-on approach to carrying out the established goals
Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Travel required - Once or twice a month
PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS
MBA or Master's Degree preferred
In-house corporate experience preferred
Good public speaking or event MC experience.
