Travelers Claim IT Production Delivery Services seeks a Risk/Security Sr. Director. This role will report to the 2VP of Production Shared Services, and will work closely with architecture, developers, project management, business, enterprise counterparts and fellow Production Delivery Services leaders. This position will lead the Risk Management, Security and Audit functions within Claim IT.
This leader is responsible for the critical role of evolving and maturing our Risk and Security Capabilities. This role nurtures key partnership with Enterprise functions such as IS Security, Risk Management and Audit. This role also plays a critical role with the coordination of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery management.
This leader will be accountable in conjunction with their staff to monitor and analyze technology risk trends, conduct information security risk and vulnerability assessments. He/she must also analyze, recommend, and implement approved mitigations/counter measures. He/she will support strategic direction and oversight regarding audit, regulatory and risk management activities.
We are seeking an energetic, accomplished, leader with a strong technology and delivery acumen. This leader should have a working knowledge of Risk and Security programs with direct experience managing a Risk/Security operation a plus. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a large, complex business and technology environment. This individual must be recognized as a thought leader and trusted advisor. Finally, he/she will oversee and direct the work of a high performing team. He/she will be responsible to obtain and allocate resources to meet operating plans. He/she must ensure the ongoing training and development of direct reports. This includes developing and mentoring staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and the performance management processes.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives.
Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / business partners / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs.
Builds and enhances key internal and enterprise contacts
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the function, ranging from planning and budgeting to motivational and promotional activities expounding the value of information security
Lead or commission information security risk assessments and controls selection activities
Lead or commission suitable information security awareness, training and educational activities
Lead or commission the preparation and authorizes the implementation of necessary information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with the Claim Leadership and Enterprise standards
Lead Business Continuity and Disaster Coordination activities.
Hiring, developing and managing employees
Leader that works to eliminate blocks that the team encounters
Coordinating, leveraging and influencing technology partners
Leveraging global delivery and other external service partners
Written and verbal communication skills that translate from technical team level up thorough to Senior Management
Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of current technology capabilities, and a keen interest in staying abreast of emerging technology trends and opportunities. Desire to learn Audit, Security and Risk industry practices, standards and techniques (e.g. SSAE 16 and NIST)
Communication: Effectively written and verbal communication from technical team direction to senior management presentations and demonstrates an adaptive style for gaining the engagement, cooperation and commitment of others.
Problem Solving and Decision Making: Demonstrates outstanding analytical and diagnostic skills when dealing with complex issues and uncertainty, and the ability to make sound decisions quickly while carefully evaluating risks and alternatives before taking action. Possesses strong negotiation and collaboration skills, and effectively consults and communicates with key stakeholders regarding critical decisions.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Business Management, or related field or equivalent experience required.
At least 8+ years’ of full-time work experience in information technology with 3-5 years of people management experience preferred.
Experience training others and development training plans.
