The Director of Undergraduate Admission provides direction and leadership to the Undergraduate Admission office by planning, developing, and executing strategies and programs to accomplish institutional and departmental undergraduate admissions goals. The Director is responsible for managing a team of 14 admission professionals charged with the annual recruitment and selection of domestic students. The incumbent partners with the Director of International and Transfer Admission and reports to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission.
Essential Functions
Working with the senior leadership team, participate in the development and execution of a strategy that is designed to attract qualified students and ensure each incoming class meets the admissions goals of the University. Ensure recruitment and marketing efforts are aligned with institutional diversity, quality, and class size goals.

Participate in the development of the strategic plan and successfully manage the plan for the annual recruitment of freshmen students to Bentley University. This includes attention to specific populations, i.e., diverse candidates, high ability candidates and women.

Participate in the development of the strategic plan for a successful application review process. Manage the overall process for application review and evaluation for domestic students.

Participate in the development of the strategic plan and manage the successful development and execution of all student, guidance counselor and parent admission events and programs, including the on-campus visitor experience. Monitor and analyze effectiveness of activities and make recommendations to improve results as needed.

Develop and implement the Regional Leadership model which allows Bentley to develop regional expertise and manage the Regional Leaders assigned to each geographic area in the U.S.

Supervise members of the admission staff and provide positive leadership and guidance to the entire admission team to achieve maximum process, technology and human resource efficiencies in the execution of programs and activities within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Responsible for the professional development of staff as individual and team contributors.

As a senior manager on the Bentley campus, the Director collaborates with other offices on the campus to achieve excellence in customer service delivery systems throughout the enrollment process.

Serve on the department’s senior management team with the Director of International and Transfer Admission in the planning and implementation of office goals and objectives.

Responsible for the monitoring and execution of a recruitment budget for the purpose of funding off-campus recruitment activities as well as student staffing needs to meet enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)
Education: MA/MS degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience plus 10+ years of related experience.

Skills: Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, leadership, communication and presentation skills. Commitment to working with staff and students with diverse backgrounds, and demonstrated ability to communicate effective with students from various cultural backgrounds. An understanding of cutting edge trends in enrollment management at a national and international level. Proven commitment to technological advancement in approach to work and staff development. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a goal-drive and fast-paced team environment. Ability to represent Bentley in a positive way to prospective students and their families.

Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications
Prior Undergraduate Admission experience.

Physical Demands
This position routinely requires long hours and weekend work during peak admissions and aid cycles. Operating under deadlines, responding to staff needs and troubleshooting systems and other work related problems requires energy, confidence, sensitivity and an ability to manage stress. Responding to the needs of the public (both internal at Bentley and external) requires an organized, committed and customer service attitude. Ability to respond to criticism at all levels and from all types requires diplomacy and a strong sense of commitment to bring meaningful closure to concerns.
