The Director of Satellite Business Development will be responsible for scoping and analyzing market opportunities for the SpaceX Satellite network and helping to define related products. Addressable markets may include consumer, enterprise and government sectors, both domestic and international.
Responsibilities will include defining a complete product portfolio, including pricing and services, as well as analyzing the licensing and operational requirements of the diverse geographies and economic areas where the network may be deployed. Working closely with the Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams, the Director will be responsible for developing the overall business strategy approach for the SpaceX network. Additional responsibilities will include developing potential strategic partnerships.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience in business development, strategy development, or marketing in the telecommunications sector (terrestrial or space-based)
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, software, mechanical or electrical engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
MBA or Master's degree with business or engineering focused curriculum
At least 2 years’ experience in an engineering role is required
Demonstrated track record of developing successfully executed business plans
Experience in business planning, product definition, and communications or consumer product roll-out internationally
Strong knowledge of the telecommunications business (terrestrial or space based)
Strong knowledge of consumer electronics and communications market
Strong analytical and planning skills on both business and technical issues

Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
