Join Symantec’s Corporate Communications Team to lead the company’s Website Security business unit.
Serve as the director for strategic programs related to strengthening Symantec’s reputation and relationships within the Certificate Authority (CA) and Browser communities and governing bodies, including thought leadership, crisis communications, and executive visibility.

Join Symantec’s Corporate Communications Team to lead the company’s Website Security business unit.
Serve as the director for strategic programs related to strengthening Symantec’s reputation and relationships within the Certificate Authority (CA) and Browser communities and governing bodies, including thought leadership, crisis communications, and executive visibility.
Develop a variety of content, including key messages and talking points for key spokespeople within Website Security, speeches for industry events, internal and external FAQs, and coverage reports and analysis.
Partner with key stakeholders within Website Security and the agency team to drive the strategy to develop and implement public relations campaigns and activities.
Must be fluent in all aspects of social media to drive engagement and reinforce Symantec’s Website Security thought leadership and market leadership positioning. Further, must be able to build a strategic communications plan with social as a key lever to accelerate key Website Security personas and prioritized thought leadership topics.
Manage relationships with media and industry analysts to help position Symantec’s Website Security business as a trusted leader within the CA and Browser communities.
Ability to grasp complex and technical content, and break it down for different audiences.
Counsel internal stakeholders and executives on effective proactive and reactive communication strategies surrounding industry trends, while contributing a valuable external point of view on business opportunities and challenges.
Drive programs from beginning to end independently and with an action-oriented approach
Manage an agency team dedicated to supporting Website Security.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or business.
10+ years public relations experience.
Full command of PR and social media, as well as previous experience in the strategy and execution of communications activities.
Experience working with business and CA trade press and bloggers.
Ability to manage outside resources, including an agency team.
A self-starter with a proven ability to multitask, prioritize and work with all levels of an organization.
Passion for thought leadership initiatives and crisis communications.
Ability to grasp business issues and manage high impact and critical communications situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in the CA community is strongly desired.
