The Director Materials Planning/Global Supply Chain Director for the UOP Equipment business provides overall Supply Chain Leadership for GP&H and PT&E Businesses. This position reports to the Director of Global Supply Chain Planning and Logistics for Performance Materials & Technology and has a matrix reporting relationship to the Senior Vice President of GP&H. The role will be located in Des Plaines, IL
Responsibilities:
• This position will lead the SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) process, and work to continuously improve the SIOP process to achieve Class A performance in this project based business. This role will be directly responsible for the overall execution of the GP&H and PT&E supply chains and the project logistics team.
• Direct reports include all SC Planning and project logistics execution resources in the UOP Equipment business.
• Complete SIOP assessments and implement a SIOP process that fully integrates engineering, internal production, external fabrication partners/shops, procurement, etc.
• Lead the definition and implementation of a Demand Planning role within this project based business
• Define roles and accountability across the organization
• Design and implement improvements to supply chain to support the Equipment business growth strategies
• Improve responsiveness to customers and reduce operating expenses and working capital
• Reduce inventory DOS (Days of Supply) to targeted levels
• Improve OTTR (On-Time to Request) as appropriate. Ensure project schedules are accurately reflected in SIOP and project managers, procurement, logistics and all associated with the project understand and meet the committed timelines.
• Improve Supply Chain planning and logistics processes to balance asset utilization and customer responsiveness as appropriate
• Design and implement project planning, manpower planning and logistics tools to seamlessly work together and support the businesses’ cost and service strategies
• Leverage the strategic procurement group in Morristown to achieve cost and quality goal.
• Champion lean tools and techniques to reduce cycle time and cost
• Identify needs and support the development of regional supply chains where required
• Work closely with Project Management and the Business to ensure the supply chain plan is effective to manage risk.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Operations or Engineering
• 10 years of direct experience in a manufacturing business or supply chain
Additional Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of a working global SIOP in a large organization
• MBA preferred
• Proven leadership abilities and in depth knowledge of supply chain management and execution
• Strong Customer Focus and ability to execute whatever is required
• Demonstrated Process improvement skills
• Able to understand and think strategically and implement long term plans; can handle both long term and short term goals simultaneously
• Proven record of team management
• Strong Presentation skills
• Demonstrated negotiating skills
• Ability to work in & handle matrix organization and bring numerous groups (Sales, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, procurement, logistics, customer service) together to execute business strategies
• Six Sigma certification a plus
