Responsibilities:
You Will Have the Opportunity to:
Develop and grow talent in the engineering & maintenance functions of Johnsonville.
Provide strategic leadership for the engineering team to build long term business plans including executing the engineering vision, strategies, objectives and metrics.
Translate high-level goals and strategies into the work. Align and manage the appropriate resources to execute team activities toward achieving short and long term objectives.
Lead capital planning and capital plan execution to maximize ROI and to assure on-going scheduled asset maintenance at all locations.
Key leader in operational & supply chain productivity planning & master planning with alignment to organizational productivity targets.
Work with team to create or acquire new technical approaches and capabilities to advance technologies within the organization. Apply and transfer new technologies and best practices across the network as appropriate.
Coach the engineering team including hiring and training members, planning and directing project work, performance reviews, etc.
Provide for the technical development of Plant Engineers and Maintenance Coaches at Johnsonville.
Establish and maintain disciplined processes and systems for building/equipment specifications, asset tracking, preventative maintenance and regulatory requirements.
Lead the engineering capital project commercialization process to ensure organizational alignment, accuracy and satisfaction among key stakeholders.
Ensure established procedures and standards at Johnsonville and by government regulators are adhered to.
Enhance and grow the Project Management Office process and project controls.
Align with and support other areas of the company in the development and implementation of short and long term goals to meet business objectives.
Education:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a traditional engineering field is required; Master’s Degree is preferred in either Engineering or Business.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated successful performance in managing engineering teams in a CPG manufacturing processing facility required. Experience in operations leadership, food or USDA regulated facility is a plus.
Minimum of seven (7) years of coaching experience required, including the ability/experience in developing yourself and those around you to higher levels of responsibility.
Skills and Competencies:
Thorough understanding of refrigeration systems, plant utility systems, processing and packaging required.
Knowledge and ability to innovate new and emerging technologies into manageable and practical applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a team based environment.
Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills (oral, written, and listening.)
Solid financial background with the ability to understand and coach others on the financial justification process and the development of IRR.
The ability to effectively use Excel, Word, MS Project (or equivalent project management software.)
