Job Description:
Oversee all catering events for executive dining room, 270 Park’s 49th and 50th floors. Work closely with clients to ensure event success, collect and build on attendee and coordinator feedback. Manage relations with clients, employees, and vendors – responsible for success of catering operations. Ensure highest level of customer satisfaction, service excellence, and operational efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
Manage Client Dining events planning staff
Ensure completeness of reservations with comprehensive assessment of all related services
Act as department lead and coordinator for special functions and catering requests
Maintain event space appearance alongside operations manager
Oversee outside vendors and décor suppliers; partner to create the appropriate ambience
Work with culinary team developing seasonal food and beverage program
Coordinate with captains on staffing needs and schedules
Maintain professional and productive relationship with executives and their support teams
Attend weekly BEO meetings, act as presenter for functions and their related services; coordinate and communicate with team representatives from various departments
Effectively cost and price events; ensure timely and accurate charges
Assist with maintenance of corporate requirements for line staff, i.e. Code of Conduct, Privacy Awareness, etc.
Oversee equipment rental programs, participate in owned equipment programs
Assist in leading pre-service meetings with front of house staff in preparation for lunch service and events
Engage in staff training, specifically relating to catering service efforts
Flexible work schedule allowing for event support during early morning and evening periods
Requirements
6+ years hospitality experience in high-end, high-volume a la carte restaurant or hotel conferencing
Experience in all aspects of dining and catering planning including meeting planning, AV knowledge, and food/beverage experience
Proven track record of designing creative solutions for events and meetings
Prior managerial experience required, including acting as performance manager for hourly staff
Excellent people skills; capable of interacting with people at all levels in a professional and confident manner
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn proprietary event software
Bachelors Degree preferred
