Director Global Pricing Strategy Analytics PayPal San Jose

Job Description:
In this role, you will lead the evolution of pricing at PayPal. As a Director of Global Pricing Strategy and Analytics, you will lead improvements in PayPal’s pricing maturity in all areas including pricing strategy, price setting, price management and analytics. You will use a value-based pricing approach to help develop forward-thinking pricing strategies based on data-driven insights that will optimize pricing and profitability and drive margin expansion for the PayPal brand. You will set a global pricing strategy and support the global and regional business leaders and their teams employ the strategies. You will partner with Finance, Product, Marketing, BU, Legal and Sales to ensure pricing is strategic and supports evolving business objectives.

Set and lead vision and pricing strategies for PayPal’s core products (i.e. PayPal wallet, unbranded card processing) and adjacent products (i.e. Braintree, PayPal Credit, Xoom) that capture PayPal’s value proposition and competitive advantages
Define and oversee pricing policies, structure and rates for existing and new products that impact PayPal User Agreements
Manage governance, cadence and mandates for Strategic Pricing Council, which will approve strategic pricing decisions including key pricing initiatives, new pricing and changes and complex partnerships
Provide guidance and oversight of pricing changes across the globe, working with regional pricing leads and general managers, who own regional specific pricing (e.g., analyze cross-regional impact, suggest changes, position in Strategic Pricing Council)
Provide guidance on structuring and negotiation of strategic multi-national deals with complex and potentially charged business issues
Deploy best-in-class pricing analytics, models and research methods for analyzing portfolio segmentation, leakage, price testing, demand elasticity and competitive intelligence to develop compelling, insightful recommendations to senior management
Support development of globally aligned platform and other pricing capabilities in collaboration with Pricing Product and end-users (e.g., selecting pricing and profitability software, translating regional plans into global view of platform capability needs, defining structure and role for pricing organization)
Develop and share competitive intelligence, pricing KPIs and best practices for global and regional pricing organization
Build and lead a team of highly impactful pricing experts that can evolve pricing strategy and analytics for PayPal
Build consensus among cross-functional and regional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences
PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
12+ years of relevant pricing strategy and analysis experience
Big picture strategic thinking with hypothesis driven by structured analytical approaches
Excellent data, analytic and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights which can be easily understood by internal and external partners
Passion and track record for applying sophisticated analytics to solve complex business problems
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication up to the senior executive level
Ability to operate in a highly complex cross-functional matrixed organization structure to drive direction, decision making, and priorities
Experience in high growth financial services industry preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong ability to determine, communicate and evangelize pricing vision and strategy
Highly accountable, with ability to influence senior-level decisions
Exhibit the highest standards of integrity and be pleasant & fun to work with.
EDUCATION: Masters Degree or Equivalent from top-tier institution or similar academic/professional experience
