Job Description:
The Director of Marketplace Ops will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of our Goods marketplace. This will involve full accountability for all aspects of the marketplace P&L and managing a team of 30+ associates to drive supplier acquisition and development, revenue and promotion management, assortment optimization and product screening.
Manage P&L for our marketplace business, including financial analysis, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
Drive complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
Lead the development and implementation of analytic models and algorithms to predict consumer behavior. Design strategies for effective use of model output.
Develop critical strategic, operational and business metrics. Manage cross-functional team to meet or exceed the targeted metrics.
Develop quarterly and annual strategic plans.
Help define and implement tools and process to support rapidly growing marketplace business. Develop business cases and define requirements for new features and enhancements to our marketplace.
Create efficiency and automation through process improvement and leveraging of systems
Lead collaboration between C-suite executives, Merchandising, Marketing, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Product Development, and other operational departments.
Drive our day-to-day relationships with large key strategic partners. Maximize the top-line results of these relationships by ensuring the partners are effectively merchandised on Groupon.
Prepare ad hoc analysis & participate on projects as needed.
Desired Skills And Experience
5 to 10 years retail merchandising experience
3-5 years proven experience in new business development (includes driving aggressive category growth in startup retail enterprises)
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, business); MBA from top school preferred
