Job Description:
AP is seeking a Global Director for its ENPS division with principal operations located in Washington, D.C. and London U.K.
ENPS is the market leader for news production systems and is used by more than 64,000 journalists, editors and producers in more than 900 television, radio and broadcast network newsrooms in over 60 countries around the world.
The position leads a global team that is responsible for sales, business development, distributor relationships, partnerships with major broadcast software and hardware makers, product design and development in collaboration with ENPS software development partners, and customer installation, training and support including operating a 24/7/365 global customer call center.
The ideal candidate should have proven leadership skills and a successful track record of managing a globally dispersed team, diverse customers and relationships with key partners and distributors.
Responsibilities
Set strategies for the business including future product development and expansion into new markets.
Maintain key customer relationships and manage customer sales and business development.
Collaborate with key business leaders across other AP divisions e.g. revenue, marketing, editorial and technology to leverage AP ENPS intelligence to enhance market offerings and expand market share to grow revenue. Work across business units to share ideas and ensure that ENPS delivers the highest quality and most consistent product/service experience for both internal and external clients.
Expand relationships and communication channels with internal and external stakeholders building appropriate accountability to ensure the successful implementation and support of the product.
Drive innovation and encourage a creative results-oriented approach to addressing challenges.
Evaluate current business and product partnerships to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Create and share division and product metrics to executive leadership team and relevant business owners to establish appropriate plans to allow for the analysis of performance against stated objectives/goals.
Some U.S. and international travel needed primarily to meet with major clients, business partners, ENPS staff and to participate at trade shows.
Qualifications
Demonstrated executive leadership skills
Experience managing a global business and P&L
Strong instinct for collaboration and proven staff mentoring and development capabilities
Deep knowledge of broadcast newsroom technologies and operations including digital applications
Knowledge of software business preferred
Demonstrated experience with managing remote teams and creating a collaborative and dynamic environment that allows staff members to thrive
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate up, down and across the organization
Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate complex transaction
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
Bachelors degree in business or computer science strongly preferred. Graduate degree or MBA a plus
