Job Description:
The Graphic Designer Has a Proven Track Record In Conceptualizing, Defining And Delivering Print And Online Communication. Our Ideal Designer
• Challenges traditional approaches
• Identifies and suggests ways in which products/services can be enhanced or improved
• Provides insight in recognizing, defining and acting on vital opportunities and/or needs that are not apparent to others in the situation

• Powerfully articulates complex design and user experience issues in a concise, readily understood manner
• Simplifies issues by using persuasive analogies, stories or graphic representations
• Leads the development of creative, strategic, proactive and technically correct advice to clients

A designer who is involved in all aspects of the user experience including: design or user research, interactive design, prototyping and information architecture is preferred.

Branding and graphic design
• Facilitate brand and design strategy sessions with clients and produce creative briefs and detailed plans
• Client facing with strong presentation skills, including the facilitation of brand strategy work sessions
• Ability to manage the creative components of a campaign (e.g., estimates, schedules, internal reviews, approvals)
• Work collaboratively and effectively with the internal project team and national creative director
• Facilitate client meetings to gather information, establish needs, clarify expectations, develop strategies and obtain feedback
• Facilitate and participate in internal creative brainstorm meetings
• Ensure quality services are provided to clients
• Contribute to the advancement of the firm by contributing to and sharing best practices with the design and production team and other consultants
• Develop professional and personal relationships, as appropriate

Technical Skill
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator (Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Flash a plus)
• Advanced skill in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Advanced skill and knowledge in print production
Business Development Support
• Expand relationships with current clients by developing more business or by cross-selling, representing revenue of $650K or more annually
• Expand client relationships by reviewing project activity and identifying opportunities for growth
• Support account executives and consultants with research and concept development for proposals
• Participate in the preparation of presentations and new business proposals
Budget and Project Management
• Ability to supervise preparation of schedule and budget resulting in projects that are on-time and within budget. Oversee milestones for several large projects (i.e., $75K and up), ensuring project quality and client satisfaction
• Advise account executive/client of project changes (i.e., budget, scope) to manage expectations
• Effectively juggle multiple projects in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
• Prepare and submit billing points for invoicing as needed

People Development
• Initiates training and development opportunities for self and others
• Recruit, interview and recommend new hires
• Mentor junior designers and proactively facilitate new technology and design solutions
• With senior staff approval, provide recommendations for staff training and development opportunities

Qualifications

• 8+ years of graphic design experience, BFA in graphic design
• Exceptional technical and graphic design talents with a portfolio that displays strong conceptual thinking and methodology
• Proficiency in the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Experience in various digital mediums (i.e. video, responsive web design, apps, gaming); experience in interaction design principles and tools (wireframes, personas, mental models, etc.)
• On top of the latest design and technology trends for print, web and mobile, and can share those insights with team members
• Promotes design and user experience thought leadership within the organization and the industry.
• Knowledge of Human Resources (e.g., benefits, compensation, change management) and Communication business (e.g., content, design, production, technology) preferred
• Strong written communication skills and strong oral communication skills
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills
• Passion for creating great solutions that solve real user problems in an engaging way
