Job Description:
Directs, leads, and controls the activities of a mission critical high volume medical device manufacturing plant. Sets plant strategic direction and motivates staff and organization to meet quality, cost, schedule, inventory, and delivery requirements while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Major Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for leading all operations and the actions required to assure production, shipping schedules and planned sales are achieved within the operational expense and capital budgets.
Prepares weekly and monthly operational reports covering products scheduling and shipping activities, major product availability issues, and product support projects.
Establishes, recommends, and approves complement, facilities and budgets for all functions and assures they are used at the highest possible return to Physio-Control.
Plans and coordinates the transfer of new products, technologies, equipment and processes in conjunction with marketing & sale needs, and supports group strategic plans.
oordinates and participates in general administrative and technical programs and functions such as: manpower planning, production schedule, shipping commitments, management development programs, QIP/JIT, and their compliance.
Coordinates with appropriate group plans for future strategic plans implementation, including orderly phase-in of new products and phase-out of existing ones.
Assures proper follow-up to operational, design and reliability issues. Coordinates and implements required process, design and technology changes in agreement with established procedures and plans.
Leads implementation of Lean initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline
Eight years highly applicable and relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires strong commensurate leadership skills in an applicable discipline with working knowledge of other related disciplines and with manufacturing processes, planning, budgeting, and staffing.
Prefered / Desired Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Experience working in a medical device or similarly regulated environment
Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to lead groups of people with diverse skill sets
Effective communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS:
