Job Description:
As a Director of UX, you will lead our product research, strategy, information architecture and interaction design to create products that are easy to learn and use yet offer powerful features-- products that are functional yet connect emotionally and delight our customers. You will use design thinking to push innovation across the entire organization, contributing to strategy, organizational design and marketing.
You will bring together, inspire, coach and mentor our diverse group of visual, interaction and motion graphics designers, engineers and product managers to create a design culture where users and their needs always come first.

They believe that great products are as much about utility and ease of use as they are about emotions. They work well in teams and have endless curiosity. They demonstrate attention to detail and the courage to challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities:
Lead design research and effectively communicate findings, conceptual ideas and designs for products and services as well as broader strategy and organizational changes.
Design user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews and usability testing. Design metrics, and use analytics to identify problems in existing flows to identify potential improvement areas.
Produce, when required by a project, user requirements, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that products reflect the research findings and design specifications.
Cooperate with, coach and mentor designers across Asia, Europe and the US to help improve the work we produce and continue advancing our collective knowledge and skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Experience:
Bachelors in Visual or Interaction design or other relevant degree. Preferably, a Master in Visual or Interaction design.
8+ years of professional experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.
You understand human-centered design philosophy, and are comfortable pushing design methodologies beyond product to areas of strategy, organizational design and beyond.
The ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct user research, requirements analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture design, interaction design, and usability testing.
The ability and willingness to lead others and simultaneously get your hands dirty and create value as an individual contributor.
You are data driven, you prototype at various levels of fidelity and rely on qualitative and quantitative research to continuously improve your work.
Strong people management skills, past experience managing design teams. You have a passion for mentoring and coaching designers so that they get the most out of their talent and advance their careers as experience designers.
A great portfolio that shows a proven track record of defining and managing complex large-scale SaaS or PaaS products that are easy to use, functional and delightful to interact with. Experience designing products that extend across multiple platforms: native mobile / tablet and responsive Web preferred
