Director Temperature Control Operational Compliance Pfizer Collegeville

Job Description:
Responsible for the global management, strategies, continuous improvement, and operational implementation of all Temperature Control Logistics and Operational Logistics Compliance. The incumbent is responsible for staffing, managing and leading a group of Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the areas of:
*Business Continuity Management
*Cold Chain and Temperature Controlled Shipping Systems & Lane Design
*Validation and Qualification strategies and procedures for transport providers and equipment
*Conveyance Security
*Dangerous Goods Transport
*Environmental, Health & Safety

This involves creating a highly collaborative environment to deliver maximum logistics value, optimizing compliance, and best practice for our internal and external customers and suppliers. Creation and maintenance of Business Score Card (BSC) metrics for input to Operations Review Meetings (ORM) within and beyond their organization with special expertise in Cold Chain & Temperature Controlled Shipping.

Responsibilities
Management 10%
Responsible for selecting, coaching, developing and managing a group of diverse SME's located across the globe. Develop and control annual budget. Work with customers to explain regulatory and compliance cost changes and their associated impacts on budgets. Continue building a team of highly functional SME's dedicated to Pfizer's OWN IT culture using the tools available; e.g., recognition, Mindset & Behavior, etc. Represent SME's on the Intercompany Operations Leadership Team (IOLT) and participate in Intercompany Operations objective setting, budgets, talent selection & development, and strategic direction setting.

Logistics Compliance 40%
Champion and support a group of SME's in the areas of Business Continuity, Conveyance Security, Dangerous Goods and Environmental, Health & Safety. Provide clear communication and support for the team to leadership within GSCPM, upper levels of Management and other areas of focus. Ensure, to the extent possible, that SME's are aware of strategies, directions and changes impacting their particular focus area. In conjunction with SME's build relationships with associated corporate groups; e.g., Global EHS, Global Security, etc. Responsible for ensuring SME's provide tools, programs & processes, training, good practices, metrics, reporting, oversight and audit assistance to customers in their respective focus area. Ensure SME's are disseminating new/revised regulations and/or Pfizer policy in a timely and concise manner. Support SME's in their work with regulators and industry groups to positively impact regulations and keep abreast of regulatory direction.

Temperature Control Logistics 50%
Lead the Logistics Councils in order to drive shared activity, global collaboration and consistency throughout the corporation. Actively identify and leverage best practice qualification processes and operational compliance across the global network. Meet with cross-functional management staff to evaluate process and procedure needs, resolve problems and implement CAPA's, provide resources, reset direction, and maximize effective interactions and functioning of the team. Lead and accountable for the identification, selection, qualification, implementation, and continuous improvement of Temperature Control Logistics solutions and systems ensuring that the transport provider services and programs supporting the key core products and sites across the global network are optimized and delivering cost effective, globally applicable, environmentally friendly solutions and as a result guarantees product integrity during transit.

Utilizing a risk based approach partnering with GSCPM colleagues and site operations for optimizing compliance and qualifying temperature control shipping systems and transporter equipment by developing and implementing audit and monitoring programs and processes consistent with the standards of care and quality agreements. Develop and implement lane design in compliance with the global conformance standards and divisional directives. Build and maintain strong relationships inside and outside the organization including the regional quality and regulatory organizations, plant and distribution sites, external supply, and packaging technology to develop and implement consistent qualification practices and operational compliance disciplines across the network.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain Management. (another discipline is acceptable if work experience provides the needed background) MBA preferred but can be offset with an acceptable number of years of supply chain experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

A minimum of 15 years pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consumer products operations experience is required. Temperature Control Logistics, Transportation and Package Design experience a plus along with understanding of operational compliance in the focus areas of Business Continuity Management, Conveyance Security, Dangerous Goods Transport, and EH&S program. Preferred candidate will have the ability to think strategically with an analytical background, negotiating skills, and capability to interact with and influence senior management. Multi-year project management experience along with ability to deal with varied backgrounds & agendas in an intense and dynamic environment is a plus. Ability to perform business case or financial analysis on a macro basis, strong presentation skills and ability to facilitate global team dynamics is required. Demonstrated ability to build effective teams of diverse SME's who work in a cohesive manner focused on operational success while recognizing the need to balance compliance with operational effectiveness.
