Director Technical Treasury American Express Phoenix

Job Description:
This challenging position is responsible for the relationship management, development, implementation and governance of innovative technology solutions for the GCOT Organization supporting Finance-Treasury department.
The successful candidate will be a versatile leader and technologist that will collaborate with Treasury Business Partners and Technology colleagues to understand near-term needs and implement longer-term strategies to deliver solutions within demanding cost, schedule, performance, and risk management expectations.
Treasury is a critical Finance function, and supports several business processes such as Asset Backed Securitization (ABS), Cash Management, Exposure Management, Funding and Liquidity, Market Risk Exposure Management and Foreign Exchange Rate Selection.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages application development for all Treasury applications, with a team of 8-12 employees.

• Develops and implements Treasury roadmap in line with Finance and GCOT strategy to enable higher automation and drive synergies with other GCOT capabilities.

• Responsible for all Scorecard metrics – SDLC, Scrum, disaster recovery, exceptions, availability, vulnerability, UAC, AIU, etc.

• Proactively anticipates any risks and issues that may arise during the delivery of the portfolio plan and ensures that appropriate mitigation actions are undertaken.

• Promotes continuous improvement in technology delivery processes to drive overall improvements in quality and performance.

• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with business partners through clear and consistent engagement and communications.

• Ensures utilization of technology experts to drive synergy and technology re-use to deliver global innovative solutions.

• Identifies and resolves conflicts between vendors, business leaders and technology groups.

• Leads development efforts and oversees portfolio delivery plans in terms of schedule, cost, scope and quality to drive delivery of technical solutions.

• Manages resource requirements for project development to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands, as well as agility for coverage of all development activities.

• Utilizes sound Financial principles to lead efforts in accurate forecasting and monitoring of all development investments.

• Provides appropriate status updates and conducts reviews with business and technology executives.

• Assures that solutions meet company and departmental policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing Software Engineering teams designing and building software products in a fast paced , complex and dynamic product development environment preferably in a Finance space.

• Require experience in transforming teams and adopting Agile/Lean principles.

• Requires proven Technical experience with modern development frameworks, continuous integration/continuous delivery tool chains, and the full software development lifecycle.

• Requires highly Technical experience and knowledge in 3rd party software integration, and implementing data management and reporting solutions.

• Proven ability to lead a team in Agile/Scrum-based product driven development.

• Experience directly leading a Technical team of Engineers.

• Hands on knowledge of current Technology standards/trends coupled with desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills.

• Innovative problem solver with the ability to generate and implement a strategy.

• Proven ability to work with and influence peers and more senior leaders without direct authority.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or has equivalent work experience.
