Job Description:
The Director of Global Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for leading the charge to identify and evaluate new suppliers, to negotiate current contracts with an emphasis on price, terms, quality, and to uncover and execute on consolidation opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to build an internal Global strategic Sourcing function in a fast-paced and dynamic business in the entertainment industry.
The successful candidate must be able to develop and execute optimal sourcing strategies, select best-in-class suppliers, and perform strategic sourcing activities across multiple categories of spend including but not limited to Marketing, Media, Creative Agencies, Production, PR, Events, IT, Travel, and Professional Services.
This Director Of Global Strategic Sourcing Will Be The Department’s First-level Strategic Leader
Provides strategic direction for a department or a collection of smaller groups to meet business objectives. Participates with more senior leaders to integrate strategic plans and develop functional/departmental objectives.
Actively participates in business reviews and business decision-making as a partner to business leaders; monitors progress towards business metrics, identifies critical financial and business issues, identifies possible solutions and appropriately communicates. Responsibilities
Develop, lead and execute procurement/sourcing strategies; drive standardization of processes and procedures, supplier selection processes/ongoing supplier management.
Lead negotiation efforts on purchase agreements and vendor contracts.
Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation. Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.
Develop and maintain an overall vendor base to create and sustain a competitive advantage, utilize global market exploitation, leverage spend and leveraging technologies.
Run RFP process for all key contracts within the company
Oversee a systematic, analytical and results-based method for monitoring supplier's performance and communicate results to suppliers and end business stakeholders.
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness; perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
Develop and maintain a highly skilled and engaged team; guide project team, functions and geographies in developing and managing the overall approach for procurement shared services implementation, ensuring all related projects is in alignment
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; minimum 10-15 years of general business experience , senior leadership/management experience and team management with at least 5 years’ experience in Entertainment industry with specific experience in Marketing, Media, Creative agencies, production, PR, events, IT, travel, professional services
International sourcing experience and strong negotiating skills
Proven track record of successfully implementing and executing leading edge procurement/sourcing best practices across multiple categories.
Develop and own annual sourcing objectives with respect to assigned categories that will reflect year over year cost reductions, quality enhancements and improved service.
Exhibit negotiating skills that will extract full value from each assigned category, providing economic, quality and service advantages that meet present and future requirements by applying advanced knowledge of purchasing principles, practices, tools, technology and contract law.
Establish and conduct periodic business reviews with supplier and other team members to measure supplier’s forward progress in achieving continual improvement. Assess progress against goals, identify and solve problems, identify opportunities and drive supplier support and innovation.
Strong presentation, documentation, communication, interpersonal skills with a team oriented approach; Experience working cross functionally and cultural sensitivity.
Highly knowledgeable of the contract process and associated legal terms, contract language and possess top-notch negotiation skills.
Proven experience in a procurement manager role; interest in market dynamics along with business sense; working experience of vendor management software; ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures, very good analytical sense and experience
Proficient in MS Office tools – i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to travel, if needed.
