Director Silicon Photonics Manufacturing Engineering Intel Corporation San Francisco

Job Description:
Intel's Silicon Photonics Solutions Group (SPSG) is looking for someone to manage a worldwide team of Optical manufacturing development engineers to deliver sort, die prep, assembly and test capability for Intel's new product lines of silicon photonics transceivers. Leading the team to develop and introduce new products, transferring the products from the R&D team in Santa Clara to production in Asia, ensuring High Volume Manufacturing meets the affordability, cycle time and quality targets. Developing manufacturing strategy for Optical products, including detailed assessment of internal and external solutions.
Partners with Outsource Materials engineering to develop and qualify an ecosystem of optics components suppliers, to support SPSGs unique ecosystem. Plans, provides resources for and directs activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Provides guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues. Plans and schedules daily tasks, uses judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.

Desired Skills and Experience
The candidate must have a technical degree and MBA preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years semiconductor or optical assembly
industry experience. Extensive knowledge of external contract manufacturing,
silicon packaging, PCBA and test solutions, including demonstrated experience
with Optical Transceiver Manufacturing including wire bonding, lens attach,
SM/MM Optical Coupling and module manufacturing. Demonstrated experience
working with OSAT's on new packaging solution.
