Director Men's Sales The North Face Los Angeles

Job Description:
• Financially responsible for achieving sales plan and working to exceed them
• Establish territory's annual sales plans in accordance with the company's goals - monthly updated forecasts to plan with store detail. Identifies best sellers and business drivers; works with production and planning to ensure inventory is available to drive the US business in their territory.
• Understand market trends, competitors and overall state of business

• Manage Department Stores and Specialty businesses by understanding their sales trends, inventory
• positions, and profitability on an ongoing basis
• Manage returns, terms, discounts, advertising and markdown allowance for accounts
• Project and manage projections on product according to knowledge of history and
• future plans
• Responsible for management and development of managers and account reps
• Coordinate with the Retail Coordinator team to use feedback to benefit business
• Bi-annual Top-to-top recaps for top tier accounts
• Execute the sales portion of the off price calendar

Education/Experience

• Years of Related Professional Experience: 7+
• BA or BS degree in Sales/Marketing, Business, or related field
• Strong understanding of apparel merchandising, sales, marketing and finance.
• Leadership experience with a direct team
• Trade Show experience is a plus

• Advanced knowledge of Retail Math, Retail Plans and Profitability
• Problem Solving
• Strong Communication and negotiation skills to best manage store buyers and navigate issues.
• Strong Presentation Skills
• Organization and creation of assortment plans, understanding buying trends
• Initiative/sense of urgency
• Creative thinker

Special Physical And/or Mental Requirements

• Travel 5-15% by air and overnight
