Job Description:
The L&D Director is responsible for executing plans to design, develop and deliver strategic learning initiatives for GSC employees and leaders. Working in close partnership with HR Business Partners and executive Business Leaders, the Director is accountable for delivering solutions that build critical skills and competencies required to achieve measurable business results. The Director works independently, utilizing high level project management, facilitation, communication and instructional design expertise to deliver relevant, effective learning solutions that deliver desired results.
Essential Responsibilities
Design, develop, and lead innovative learning and org development solutions and Programs to address the training, development, and engagement needs of functions across GSC including specific target audiences
Lead customization and implementation of Gap Inc. programs for the GSC audience
Project manage complex development projects to ensure timelines, milestones and deliverables are met in accordance with project plan
On an as needed basis, facilitate learning solutions and customized learning experiences for client groups
Manage vendor relationships and the work of multiple vendors and subject-matter experts (SME’s) as needed
Monitor the quality of delivery by business partners, providing coaching and support to ensure successful delivery of learning & org interventions
Anticipate and understand changing audience needs and business drivers and adapt to meet those needs
Ability to manage L&D budget & budget process
Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development solutions and programs, measure the business impact and return on investment, recommend and lead implementation of improvements
Partner with the communications team to create marketing strategy for learning opportunities to employees.
Identify, analyze and document LMS problems and recommend viable solutions.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in a training related role with instructional design and delivery experience; writing, editing, presenting, facilitating, planning, organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of training regarding project management initiatives
Prior experience in project management, certifications a plus
Excellent PC skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Use of Captivate, Articulate, Brainshark, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
Experience working with learning management systems, Success factors a plus.

Must be able to adapt to several roles: training, consulting, facilitating, and collaborating up, down, and across the organization; able to handle multiple projects and meet assigned deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation/facilitation skills
Comprehensive knowledge of current adult learning and instructional design theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
Ability to develop training evaluations that training effectiveness and ROI.
Critical thinker with demonstrated creative problem solving skills
Enthusiastic, well prepared, and organized
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
