The Senior Director of Big Data Platforms will be responsible for leading the strategic design and implementation of systems and tools for structuring, storing, retrieving, analyzing and reporting data. This professional will be responsible for establishing the Information Management strategy and designing systems to support the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, Loyalty programs, Business Intelligence, Data warehousing and data repositories. The Senior Director of Big Data platforms will also be responsible for defining the big data architecture and presenting the data information to leadership to help guide the digital strategy in an informed and strategic manner.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership for all big data efforts, digital analytics and customer relationship management tools.
Lead teams responsible for designing, implementing and deploying big data projects.
Manage and maintain McDonald's big data technologies such as Hadoop, Falcon, Tez, and Knox
Oversee the ongoing development of data flows and data quality to continuously improve data accuracy, viability, and value.
Responsible for ensuring integration with digital and IT groups is kept current and accurate.
Manage and mentor a staff of Directors, Managers, Analysts, Engineers, Architects and Programmers/Developers.
Oversee the ongoing development and operations of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation.
Oversee the design and deployment Hadoop and Grid based Data Integration and Analytics ecosystems to update customer valuations as well as predictive behavior and marketing campaigns.
Interface with several distributed groups in database/datawarehouse design and optimization.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of experience with enterprise applications supporting product strategy or product marketing.
10+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, data work including architectural design and system lifecycle management, preferably with big data solutions.
7+ years of experience managing cross functional teams and managing both remote and direct groups.
Proven ability to translate technical functionalities to direct business benefits.
Extensive experience working with distributed systems and teams.
Established track record working alongside Senior and C-Suite executives to establish the best practices for using customer data to support overall business strategy.
Familiarity working with very large data sets
Experience with Hadoop or Hive
Professional experience scaling Hadoop to store, process, model, and expose all company's sales, media, marketing, customer, operations, and supply chain data
Experience with a focus on data governance for a globally distributed Hadoop system in compliance with company structure and local data privacy laws
