This role provides a unique opportunity to gain a deep understanding of eBay, our industry and be at the forefront of innovation. We are in search for an exceptional Analytics and Finance leader to be a strategic partner to our VP of Global Shipping and his most senior leaders.
The Director of Shipping Analytics & Finance will lead the global shipping analytics and finance team to support Shipping Initiative and own the P/L for this growing business. This leader will work closely with our business partners and product partners across different regions and time zones. S/he will be responsible for leading the team to design metrics, provide measurement reporting, and drive business insights throughout the entire organization. This team resides within eBay’s Tech & Finance Analytics org, reporting to Senior Director, Business Analytics.
The right candidate will need to be business and analytically savvy, unafraid of challenging the status quo, and demonstrate the leadership quality to take the analytics team to the next level. This role is very business focused but deeply rooted in data and insights from data. S/he needs to have hands-on experience in business intelligence, A/B testing design, and root cause investigation, as well as a thorough understanding of financial modeling, forecasting and planning.
Responsibilities:
Partner with VP Global Shipping and his organization to ensure they are on target to meet financial goals, drive long term sustainable and profitable growth.
Be a critical member of the Finance and Shipping leadership teams, managing business performance and making strategic tradeoffs to deliver growth/customer satisfaction.
Build out capabilities to position analytics and data as a strategic differentiator in eBay marketplaces, both on-line and off-line, with a focus on supporting shipping initiatives.
Own all planning, forecasting and reporting processes Shipping.
Deliver business insights, high-impact analyses, and financial modeling to the Shipping team.
Drive analytics as a strategic business asset at the executive level and championing how eBay uses this asset to drive buyer and seller activity within eBay’s shipping domain. eBay is a data-rich company, and critical to the success of this role will be the ability to convert high volumes of data into commercially impactful knowledge through statistical best practice.
Lead project management, tracking and planning for complex shipping global projects and other key ROI projects.
Develop and execute on long-term strategy, anticipating business growth and complexity and solving in advance with world-class people/capabilities, processes, reporting and systems.
Collaborate with senior leaders in Shipping teams (Business and Product), global Finance teams, and global and regional analytics teams to address operational and strategic questions facing the Shipping business including business performance and measurement, project incrementality, investment ROI/OI forecast, and deep-dives tied to Shipping focus areas.
Recruit, manage, inspire, and develop a high performing and talented team.

Finance experience is highly preferred, but not required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to build presentation decks.
The ideal candidate for the position should have a BA or BS undergraduate degree, an MBA and/or Masters preferred, and more than 10 years of financial planning and analytics experience.
Significant leadership experience in managing a team.
