The Director of Security Operations Center is responsible for the management of internal and external resources to ensure the security and integrity of the company’s internal and external networks.
Responsibilities
Oversee the Intrusion Analyst, Incident Response, and Threat Prevention teams
Oversee major security events including their documentation.
Provide forward thinking vision to improve security response times
Serve as a liaison between security teams to upper management to disseminate information accurately and clearly
Assist in the development of effective and efficient internal security policies and procedures, specifically those used for day to day security operations.
Perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned
Qualifications
BA/BS in computer science or security related field or equivalent experience preferred
Must hold an Information Security specific certification such as the CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) or MS in Information Security
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in IT Security or Information Systems required
Specialized Knowledge, Experience With
IT security standards for applicable regulations and industry best practices
cyber kill chain, defensible action matrix, activity pattern graphs and other security methodologies
IT processing, applications, and operating systems at a level necessary to assess security risks and needs
Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems
Development and datastores
Agile methodologies
User access provisioning processes and user access management systems
Oversight or completion of penetration testing and website protection scanning
Ability To
Manage and multi-task critical efforts
Serve as a security consultant where needed, in enterprise initiatives
Achieve specific results from general direction
Determine the best course of action based on extremely complex issues in a time-pressured environment
Communicate clearly with all levels of employees
Excellent verbal and written communication, internal customer service, analytical and interpersonal skills
