Job Description:
Director, Retirement Optimization champions the customer centricity strategy, leading innovation and strategic retirement readiness initiatives. As part of the Participant Solutions team, this person will build strong relationships within JHRPS and with key stakeholders across JH wealth businesses and platforms to drive retirement optimization.

Major Responsibilities
Key mandate for this position is to improve retirement preparedness of participants in JHRPS plans.
Responsibilities range from strategy, to product development and deployment, to ongoing subject matter support rollout and training to the sales and service teams
Execute new product initiatives aligned to participant solutions strategy.
Develop and implement the marketing and retirement optimization strategy for JHRPS
Articulate a coherent, differentiated vision for JHRPS customer lifetime engagement and a strategy to apply it across distribution organization and deliver it to the market.
Source and leverage meaningful marketing/participant research and insight that lead to an increasingly clearer understanding of the current and potential participant base for JHRPS
Create a coordinated participant marketing strategy that combined with research, insight, segmentation, data analytics, and behavioral finance concepts drives retirement readiness behaviors.
Partner with Participant Solutions team to apply learnings and knowledge to improve tools, content, and engagement across participant journey points to ultimately drive positive outcomes.
Establish a close and effective working relationship with the sales, relationship management and participant service leadership team, to foster a collaborative culture to pursue innovation, superior customer experience and growth.
Collaborate with product and distribution leadership to provide critical customer analysis/insights regarding new product development and deployment
Support for integration of participant advice and rollover solutions
Support for integrated Wealth Management lifetime participant journey initiatives.
Participate collaboratively in cross-functional JHRPS teams, as required.

Ideal Experience
Proven executive level marketing, brand development and customer strategy experience with a strong track record of driving customer-centric initiatives and marketing plans.
Experience in US pension business, legislation and regulations an asset
An individual with a balance of creative marketing insights and strong operational marketing skills; digital and emerging channel marketing experience, and a demonstrable track record of success, influencing others, driving improvements, innovation and changes.
Demonstrating very strong communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrable track record of targeting, initiating, developing, leading, retaining and enhancing customer relationships in addition to providing advice and guidance with regards to product development to facilitate new product ideas and value-added customer solutions.
Clear passion for and understanding of a customer centric business philosophy. This individual must understand JHRPS’ value-add not only as a platform of solutions, but as an overall supportive participant experience.
Experience in demonstrating marketing’s value in driving growth strategies and business plans to maximize share of wallet.
Comfortable influencing and managing within a matrix structure and well versed at building strong working relationship with all internal stakeholders through practicing transparency in communication when providing counsel and advice. Ability to operate at both a strategic high level as well as taking a very “hands-on” role in execution.

Qualifications
5-8 years in-depth experience in the financial services industry.
University Degree
Very open to travel and client retention and finalist meeting presentations
Ability to juggle competing priorities and work under pressure to meet key deadlines
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Creative flair and a track record of implementing innovative solutions
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Strong financial/mathematical and analytical abilities.
Good organization skills and self-discipline.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams.
Familiarity with US pension business, legislation and regulations an asset
