DC Entertainment seeks a Director, Production for the Creative Services department. Reporting to the Vice President of Creative Services, the director is tasked with overseeing all production for the DC Collectibles business. This includes dealing with factories around the world, introducing cost savings, keeping product on schedule and overseeing the DC Collectibles employees in China and Hong Kong.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set guidelines and standards for materials and articulation used on all product. Responsible for all product function and quality.
• Facilitate all communication to factories on quality control, preproduction and production for all items. Review all quotes and tool parts before delivery to factories.
• Main contact with external testing agency for all product.
• Oversee all negotiation with factories to set target cost based on business’ goals and Creative’s vision.
• Review and respond to customer service e-mails on quality issues.
• Oversee Manager and Product Developer located internationally and Scheduling Administrator in Burbank.
Desired Skills and Experience
• 4 year college degree in engineering or design strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years production experience required.
• Experience in an engineering or factory position preferred.
• Experience in toy, licensing and/or entertainment fields preferred.
• Experience in project management preferred.
• Effective and proven organizational skills required.
• Must possess effective and proven communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Must have proven track-record demonstrating capability to communicate with all levels of staff, external clients, and WB divisions.
• Candidate must have effective and proven interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work effectively with senior level executives.
• Must be able to maintain project confidentiality.
• Proven track-record of managing own workflow to meet tight deadlines while handling high volume of work with a great attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required.
• Ability to evaluate product materials and recommend improvement in plastics and resin required.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing process preferred.
• Knowledge of comics and/or DC characters a plus.
• Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin a plus.
