Oversees organization-wide policy and compliance activities for Symantec’s global Website Security business.
Responsibilities
Drive regular BU-wide risk assessments (business, operational, & technical), prioritize, and execute needed changes across the organization as appropriate.
Ensure that policies are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect evolving business needs, industry requirements, and technology standards.
Recommend changes to industry requirements/standards and drive advocacy in the security ecosystem.
Ensure that controls across people, process, and systems deliver compliance with the stated policies, are documented, and are appropriately monitored.
Ensure that procedures are documented, map back to policies, are regularly reviewed and updated with a robust change control process.
Ensure that strong technical monitors are in place and that regular internal audits/reviews occur to ensure policy compliance and minimize in-market defects.
Drive robust cross-BU training & testing on policy/compliance.
Manage external audit activities (WebTrust, SOX, PCI, etc.)
Skills/Qualifications
At least 6 years of experience in an IT audit or similar role with a strong understanding of information security controls.
Bachelor's Degree, preferable in a technical or business related field, or applicable software experience.
General knowledge of key business functions (e.g. IT, production, sales, marketing, finance, corporate governance) and an understanding of the key risks and controls in these areas.
Strong self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced software development environment.
Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to directly engage with and communicate with members of a large cross -functional team.
Strategic thinker, with a bias towards action.
Superior business and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative. A problem solver who is able to make smart simplifying assumptions.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Understanding of SSL/PKI systems desirable.
Relationship management experience preferred.
