Job Description:
The Mobile Art Director is responsible for the overall look and quality of the art for the game. Working closely with the team, she/he defines the game’s visual bar as well as contributing in art creation alongside her/his team.
In pre-production the Mobile Art Director is expected to create game art and direct pre-viz to define and communicate the desired look and feel to the team. The Mobile AD drives this vision and pushes for high quality through leadership and by example.

Great communication skills are essential as the Mobile Art Director is expected to present to the team, to executives and work closely with the marketing team on branding and promotional related materials. Strong collaboration with the artists, designers and engineers to achieve world class aesthetic bar is essential.

As the lead production artist of the art team, the Mobile Art Director inspires and motivates the team to deliver their best work while simultaneously leading by example by creating in-game work themselves. She/he will run daily reviews and provide effective feedback to artists. The role also involves mentoring artists and providing them with career growth opportunities.

Additionally, the Mobile Art Director will work with external teams including outsourcing partners and is expected to communicate and maintain the vision across teams.

Required Art Direction Skills
Demonstrated ability to direct the team to create visually engaging gameplay experiences
Lead by example through the creation of in-game art assets
Highly organized, good communication skills and a great team-player attitude
Ability to both direct and create benchmark 2D and 3d art assets
Collaborate and garner consensus with game designers, artists and engineers
Proven ability to innovate and solve problems
Proven track record mentoring artists
Able to give effective critiques and also take strong criticism
Proactively identifies and manages internal resource/outsourcing requirements
Experience building an art team and delivering against time and tech constraints

Experience
Video game experience as an art lead on a shipped titles is required, preferably on a mobile platform
Experience developing games in Unity a plus
A fine art degree or equivalent experience
Familiar with industry standard software and trends
