Director Marketing Communications Edmodo San Francisco

Job Description:
You should have exceptional analytical and strategic skills with the ability to translate strategies into clear action plans, an ability to identify target key customers, specifiers and influencers within market segments, a track record of driving results, and proven experience of being a 'change agent' in teams or organizations. Expect to work closely with all organizational functions, including product, engineering, sales, and customer success. You will establish priorities, drive awareness around goals, and be highly data-driven to measure success against objectives. Entrepreneurial in spirit, this role is both highly strategic and tactical.

Desired Skills and Experience
Responsibilities:

Create, implement, and measure the success of comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations programs.

Manage strategy and execution (from start to finish) of all marketing strategy leveraging relevant channels of influence (i.e. email, social media, blog, PR, thought leadership editorial, collateral, tradeshows/events, influencer conversations).

Lead and drive public relations activities and key relationships with journalists and industry influencers.

Work with senior executive team, product leaders, and customer success managers to develop compelling story lines and create clear, crisp communications pieces for external distribution.

Develop and execute communication materials, programs, and collateral to build company and product awareness, in collaboration with Sales, BD, and Product Management.

Lead social media strategy and track success with a strong metrics program to improve Edmodo’s digital presence to drive increased awareness and demand generation as well as thought leadership.

Identify strategic influencers / partners to work with on projects or initiatives that contribute to brand-building initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years experience in marketing / communications

Deep understanding of consumer marketing strategies and familiarity with enterprise marketing

Prior management experience and proven team leader

Extensive experience using technology to drive meaningful measured results

Background in account centric and segment / customer based marketing

Proven use of data and analytics to drive fast-paced marketing decisions

Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, highly adaptive environment

Outstanding written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to create compelling, bold messages

Proven track record of success in creative campaign development and execution

Great organizational skills and inclination to set and achieve aggressive goals and timelines

Ability to get a lot done with a limited budget - maximizing marketing ROI

Excellent skills managing people and projects

Excellent computer skills and familiarity with marketing/PR analytics tools

Role requires minimal travel and may occasionally require response to press requests on evenings and/or weekends

Extensive knowledge about and passion for K-12 education

Preferred Experience:

A major plus if you have any of the following:

MBA preferred

Experience in deploying Marketing automation tools

Experience working in schools – history providing professional develop or classroom teaching experience ideal

Experience working in education technology

Experience working across both developed and emerging economies
