Job Description:
The Director - Logistics & Merchandise Planning is responsible for contributing to the direction for logistics planning across SalonCentric. This position has a strong relationship with the Demand Planning, Category Management, Procurement, Store Operations, Sales (Street) Operations, Marketing, Sub Distribution and Store Replenishment teams. The position is the key point for managing the strategy for the forecasting, planning and replenishment for Partner Brands.
Working with the procurement and merchandising teams, this position will develop and manage the logistical planning process.
The role requires the ability to recommend and implement the best proactive and reactive procurement programs to meet overall strategic objectives. This includes working cross-functionally and executing programs across different channels of distribution to position SalonCentric as the market leader and beauty professionals’ partner of choice.
Candidate must have strong leadership and managerial qualities, strong communication and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage internal and external resources.
Position Requirements
• Develops strategies for forecasting, planning and replenishment for Partner Brands
• Responsible for the education of Planning Managers
•Project Manager of companywide special projects related to inventory productivity
• Assists Category Directors in determination of store assortment strategies
• Directs Team to collaborate with Store Operations in order to determine coordination of store segmentation
•Implements new systems/process for purchasing, forecasting and planning for Partner Brands
•Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization – responsible for being the face of logistics at conferences, meetings and employee gatherings
•Responsible for transition planning for an evolving structure within the logistics/operations team
Job Requirements
• Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills.
•Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
•4+ years’ experience in logistics or supply chain environment
• Able to provide clear creative direction and critical feedback to Procurement Team
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Creative innovative thinker eager to identify solutions and new opportunities
• A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
