Job Description:
High-Visibility leadership opportunity for an outstanding Technical Director of Project Management professional with a proven track record of innovation, enterprise architecture and strong interpersonal skills. Able to deliver results in a fast paced Agile environment utilizing industry leading web-based enterprise applications utilizing the latest technology.
The Director of Project Management is responsible for the planning, organizing and managing of activities to bring about the successful completion of specific IT project goals and IT objectives in a matrixed resource environment to ensure commitments on quality, scope, time and budget are met or exceeded.
Key Expertise Required:
Proficient Agile Methodology background
Adept Technical Project Management experience
Strong Program Management experience with resource and financial management
Leadership experience and aptitude to manage 5 Project Managers
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 4 to 5 Technical Project Managers to deliver HR and payroll products for ADP National Accounts.
Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) focused primarily and Agile methodologies including Scrum.
Provides leadership over all aspects of the IT project from the planning phase through deployment into production.
The functional groups that the Director influences and partners with in a typical IT project may include Development, Product Management, Service, Implementation, Infrastructure and IT Support.
Qualifications:
Strong team player who can not only facilitate collaboration but can also step up and lead
Strong academic background (MBA preferred) with practical experience applying the skills gained from that academic background
Educational background in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent is highly desirable
Certified strong Agile and program management background (PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, etc.)
5 or more years of demonstrable "hands on" experience specifically addressing Agile at scale practices including executing, refining, and improving formal development practices in a global enterprise
10 or more years of relevant experience in product development (PDLC) and management
Domain expertise in end-to-end management and support of large scale product development efforts; overseeing multiple products / workstreams in various stages of product lifecycle; tracking, alignment and staging of work around numerous dependencies
High degree of business acumen and technical competency; ability to balance and bridge technology and business needs; project and program management
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and participate in projects with varied focus and business imperatives
Proven aptitude to work in, and lead, a virtual team environment and ability to build consensus
Exceptional problem solving combined with strong interpersonal skills
Outstanding oral and written presentation communication skills
Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. Rally, IBM Jazz
Possible travel to Europe or India around 1 trip per year, and domestic travel 2 or 3 times per year.
