Job Description:
The Director, IT Service Delivery will provide strategic and tactical structure necessary to operate, support and maintain a high availability technical infrastructure supporting BlackBerry’s enterprise applications, systems and services. This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of department unit strategic initiatives and for overseeing all department operations and activities, ensuring services/products are designed, developed and delivered in accordance with established specifications, quality, and performance standards and within expected budgets. The role is expected to identify business improvement opportunities that align with and support corporate long and short-term strategic goals and to provide leadership, structure and process to the department staff, ensuring quality performance and compliance with policies and practices.
Your Main Functions Will Include
Develops strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies to meet the strategic goals of the organization.
Manages IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and resourcing requirements
Create, communicate, implement and monitor information security/risk controls, processes, policies and standards for the Company.
Approves, prioritizes, and controls projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
Leads projects and new initiatives, preparing proposals, determining deliverables and milestones, managing teams/resources and timelines to ensure deliverables are achieved.
Accountable for IT service desk including execution, strategy and overarching vision, while continuing to drive cost efficient utilizing partners and vendors
Design, architect and operate BlackBerry’s email infrastructure
Own and drive identity management process, end to end for all BlackBerry platforms
Create and manage information security and risk management awareness training programs for all employees, contractors and approved system users
Manages quality of IT products/services provided, developing and maintaining appropriate measurement and reporting metrics, conducting audits, identifying areas of risk and developing mitigation strategies.
Provide overall ownership, architecture and governance of end-user platforms and tools enabling technology provisioning and associated support at BlackBerry
Develops and manages department budgets, and capital expenditures
Where necessary, re-engineers applications support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision.
Maintain SLT’s for all End User IT Services functions, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Provide managerial excellence for the IT organization, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance reviews / appraisals.
Provide overall tooling and support for software engineering including but not limited to build, release, code control and defect management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or related fields with 8-10 years of experience leading an IT organization, with a focus on system administration, end user support, application administration, and/or information security
Proven experience in change management and IT infrastructure strategic planning
Strong/expert familiarity with desktop, server, application, database, and network security principles for risk identification and analysis.
Strong knowledge and experience with business continuity planning activities, including exercising/testing, awareness, education, coordination, and plan development.
