Job Description:
Directs and manages the distribution, fulfillment, and warehouse centers (“Distribution Operations”) to ensure merchandise flows through the centers to the final destination point on a timely basis. Responsible for overall Distribution Operations, monitoring of information and activities, and long-range planning. Responsible to coordinate ultimate customer order fulfillment in coordination with any purchase of repair and engraving services to ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of orders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and maintain a system of information (Performance Metrics) for all Distribution Operations (productivity, error rate, cycle counting, inventory, PTO, etc.).

2. Coordinate collection and monitoring of Performance Metrics.

3. Relies on experience and judgment to plan, organize and staff the Distribution department to ensure merchandise flows from manufacturing to the retail stores, wholesale distribution centers and/or stores, and customers in accordance with Company policies and customer service requirements.

4. Researches new trends in the industry; travels to product and/or industry trade show to ensure distribution methods reflect best practices in, industry standards.

5. Prepares and executes long-range strategic planning to ensure distribution processes and resources meet corporate objectives.

6. Represent Distribution department on various Strategic Sales and Operational Planning Committees.

7. Coordinates daily operations. Schedules personnel to meet service levels.

8. Maintains adequate inventories for all shipping supplies.

9. Maintains a commitment to accuracy, service and speed.

10. Directly supervises Distribution Manager, Fulfillment Manager, Warehouse Manager, and Inventory Control Supervisor; indirectly supervises remaining non-exempt distribution, and warehouse staff.

11. Prepares and conducts periodic performance appraisals of direct reports. Approve and recommends changes to indirect report performance appraisals. Communicates objectives and goals on a regular basis.

12. Periodically assess employee training needs. Develop and implement training programs.

13. Ensures staff is appropriately trained and follows all appropriate safety/security procedures as required by Company policy and state/federal regulations.

14. Recommends staffing size for various times of the year.

15. Oversees (and participates if needed) interviews and selections of personnel (full-time and part-time) to fill staffing requirements.

16. Maintains high morale within the team while fostering a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

17. Maintains good communications both inside and outside the department.

18. Represents department in the S&OP process, including the Executive MBR meetings.

19. Develops and adjusts annual budget of strategic positions, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.

20. Monitors adherence to company policies.

21. Pass a background check as well as an alcohol, controlled substance, and illegal drug screen that meets Company standards before beginning regular employment.

22. Ability to consistently maintain a driving record that meets insurance company requirements

23. Observe all safety regulations; participate in all safety training; report all unsafe conditions to the appropriate company personnel.

24. Adhere to all company policies including attendance guidelines; Freedom from harassment; and all electronic communication guidelines.

Desired Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in industrial distribution, management, transportation or related industry. Master’s degree preferred.

2. APICS certification preferred.

3. Minimum 5 years management experience including personnel selection, budgeting and strategic planning.

4. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SharePoint preferred.

5. Experience with tier 1 ERP Systems(Oracle experience preferred) and Business Intelligence Reporting/Query functions (COGNOS or Discoverer experience preferred)

6. Demonstrated excellent communication, team building, and conflict resolution skills.

7. Proven ability to manage multiple functions.

8. Excellent math and problem solving skills.

9. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

10. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

11. Intermediate skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

12. Verbal and written communication skills. Advanced problem solving skills; diverse interpersonal skills, must be detail oriented, and analytical. Must be adaptable and must be able to listen without interruption.
