Director Brand Communications PepsiCo White Plains

Job Description:
The Director of Brand Communications for Mountain Dew is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of communications plans for one of most popular carbonated-soft drink brands in U.S., Mountain Dew. This role oversees communications for the brand's entire trademark, including products such as Mtn Dew Kickstart, Mtn Dew Baja Blast, Mtn Dew Game Fuel and a variety of special limited-time offers. AMP Energy is also included in this role's scope of work. This position works closely with marketing and communications leadership to establish priorities, provide strategic counsel and manage budget. It also includes oversight of all day-to-day PR activities for the brand, including media outreach and issues management. This role has agency support and has one direct report, who will assist on Mountain Dew communications as well as lead communications for other brands within the North America Beverages (NAB) portfolio.

Accountabilities:

Lead communications strategy and execution grounded in key brand and company priorities
Drive external communications to elevate the relevance and reputation of the brand
Deliver appropriate quality and quantity of earned media impressions to meet strategic goals
Collaborate with PepsiCo corporate communications team to support the company narrative
Collaborate with global beverage team on global brand initiatives
Establish and manage annual PR budget in conjunction with brand marketing team
Identify, retain and manage agency partners to deliver cost-effective programs
Lead communications for and provide strategic counsel to brand teams on high-level partnerships and programs including key talent deals, sports and media partnerships
Cultivate strong relationships with key media partners
Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure brand programs are vetted and approved
Ensure timely and effective communications related to issues and crisis management
Manage and develop direct report with responsibility for other NAB brands

10-12 years of public relations experience, including direct interaction with media, strategic planning and agency management
Experience managing brand communications in a fast-moving consumer goods category preferred
Experience with sports, music and lifestyle media preferred
Ability to influence beyond scope of responsibility
Ability to drive alignment in a complex, matrixed environment
Strong interpersonal skills
People management experience
Strong executive presence and ability to work in advisory role with senior executives
Degree in English, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred but not required
Some travel required
