Job Description
The Sr. Director, Platform Marketing will lead Brand Marketing communication as well as Product Marketing for all PlayStation Platform businesses, including PS4, PS3, Vita, Peripherals and PlayStation VR.
This Position Oversees All Aspects Of Brand Marketing, Including
Strategic planning through go-to-market launch for PS4 brand campaigns.
PlayStation planning and execution on key 3P partnership titles launch campaigns
All marketing communication and the go-to-market plan for PlayStation VR
This position also oversees all aspects of platform product marketing, including:
Use of consumer insights to drive portfolio planning and bundle SKUs.
Digital entertainment marketing opportunities, including app marketing with key partners
Platform innovation including new business models to drive the business
This person should be a highly driven experienced marketing professional who has developed and led successful product launches and managed established brands. The position will require high levels of collaboration and communication.
Oversee all brand marketing communications across platform product(s) through their entire life cycle from product development through post-launch
Lead development of go-to-market strategy, execute integrated marketing plans, and define budgetary parameters
Develop integrated marketing campaigns including broadcast, digital, social, CRM, search, promotions, retail/channels that drive commercial results and drive consumer conversation
Leverage consumer research to drive platform product marketing and lifecycle management
Oversee platform portfolio planning that maximizes commercial and brand success
Manage digital entertainment marketing opportunities, including key app partner relationships
Create new platform marketing innovations including new business models
Manage internal and external creative, media and digital teams/agencies. Have ability to evaluate creative work against the brand strategy to ensure creative achieves its objectives. Have ability to review a media plan and optimize the marketing mix.
Devise new marketing and promotional programs aligned with the PlayStation brand that aggressively drive consumer engagement and maximize lifetime value
Interface with members of product development, legal, finance, sales and marketing departments to successfully develop innovative marketing programs.
Lead the PlayStation Marketing side in driving execution of 3P partnership title launches, towards achieving platform adoption goals.
Lead all PlayStation VR Marketing Communication efforts and go-to-market plan
Assess potential strategic alliances to expand brand value, products sales and lifecycle.
Directly manage and mentor a team of star brand marketers (1 Sr Manager, 2 Brand Managers and 2 ABMs).

Must be familiar with gaming and/or entertainment industries and have extensive working knowledge of all forms of marketing communication.
Experience working with and directing creative and media agencies.
Understanding of title marketing campaign dynamics preferred (either in gaming, or other entertainment areas)
Strong Presentation, oral and written communication skills required.
Extreme familiarity of cultural marketing trends in creative, media, digital and social.
Strategic thinking required for creating and implementing marketing plans and brand creative briefs.
Ability to lead teams to achieve brand goals and objectives.
Maintain strict confidentiality with privileged information, work well with others and handle a high-pressure environment.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with department and other functional divisions. Must be able to collaborate with multiple business owners and external partners
10-15+ years in a brand marketing role (leading consumer brands)
B.A./B.S. degree from a 4 year university
Experience in entertainment (gaming, films, TV, music) or consumer technology industries
Preferred Experience / Education
15+ years in combined marketing experience, in brand, agency or MarComm roles
MBA
Experience in the gaming industry
