Senior Director Consulting Gartner New York City

Job Description
As a Gartner Senior Director working at the highest senior levels within our clients’ organisations you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in shaping, managing and delivering real business value, assisting our clients in successfully managing their technology investments and defining their Go-to-Market IT strategies.

The Senior Director, Benchmark Analytics Consulting is expected to independently manage medium to large sized project teams, and is considered to be fully proficient in full delivery of benchmarking and other consulting service offerings (e.g., data analytics, business value of IT, and performance management).

Key Responsibilities

· Lead complex project engagements for major Benchmark Analytic engagements, providing leadership and quality control for all deliverables.

· Manages project teams by developing work plans and managing project execution timelines and budgets, making corrections to the plan as required.

· Project communications to senior audiences, ensuring self-delivery of complex and/or sensitive communication to all relevant parties.

· Lead the identification of project issues performing root cause analysis, risk mitigation activities and developing recommendations that meet client needs.

· Monitor clients’ expectations and oversees revisions to project scope.

· Anticipate and addresses customer service requirements.

· Possess knowledge on budgeting, accounting, financial measures and contracts.

· Keep current on technologies/trends in multiple domains.

· Demonstrate deep knowledge and interest in a client “vertical."

· Ability to transfer knowledge regarding a client vertical, understands a client’s “business:” critical success factors and the business environment in which it operates.

· Ability to perform as a key player in Gartner Consulting’s Business Development activities by developing opportunities for new business, leading sales pursuits, scoping, qualifying and closing opportunities.

· Develop content and deliver approaches to address complex client requirements.

· Develop long-term client relationships within an engagement leading to repeat business opportunities.

· Direct the development of proposals and identify optimal client solutions and communicates the Gartner value proposition.

· Participates in the development of account plans and is actively involved in the development and growth of strategic client accounts.

· Uses a process to evaluate associates’ performance and develops improvement plans.

· Fosters collaborative team environments supporting continuous improvement and mutual successes.

· Demonstrates success in developing and mentoring associates.

· Communicates and implements the Benchmark Analytics Strategic Plan

Requirements / Ideal Experience

At Gartner Consulting we are looking for enthusiastic, committed consulting professionals who are able to work both independently and as part of a matrixed environment / team. Ideally you will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or other Quantitative discipline; MBA from a top program is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum ten years demonstrable experience at a senior level in either a technical or business environment. Significant IT consulting experience is preferred



You will be expected to demonstrate consulting experience ideally achieved within an established business and/or IT consulting firm, as well as present outstanding leadership capabilities, illustrating proficiency in both verbal and written communications.



· 10 - 20+ years’ experience in Management Consulting and/or Advisory related Consulting engagements

· Experience leading analytical, financial or comparative assessments

· Knowledge of Financial Services: Insurance, Banking and/or Investments industry operational models is strongly preferred, but not required

· Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proven background in MS Office Suite – specifically and importantly expert knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

· Strong oral and written communication skills with proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

· Ability to work fully independently and lead delivery teams with some oversight from manager

· Ability to reuse institutional intellectual property and research and adapt to client specific circumstances.

· Travel to client sites required (on average 50% travel is required)
