Job Description
The director of product management will be a key part of the UCS business, leading the strategy and development for our solutions portfolio including UCS Integrated Infrastructure, applications and Cloud. Team responsibilities include defining use cases, documenting requirements, developing business cases, planning implementation with engineering counterparts, developing collateral and messaging, participating in go-to-market activities, and customer executive briefings.
Cisco is looking for a dynamic, take-charge director with technical depth and business acumen who will work with internal and external partners to deliver differentiated solutions, develop core messaging, and evangelize the UCS solutions strategy to the field, analysts, and customers. The director must have demonstrated abilities in people management, coaching, and development.
Key Responsibilities
The Director Of Product Management Will Be Directly Accountable For UCS Achievement In The UCS Integrated Infrastructure, Storage Ecosystem, Applications Segments And Cloud With Emphasis On Enabling Whole Offers From Concept To Delivery And From Field Introduction To Go-to-market. Primary Activities Include
• Managing, coaching, and developing a product management team consisting of managers and individual contributors
• Set business and technical strategy for UCS differentiation in the team’s focus areas
• Documenting requirements
• Reviewing requirements and delivery progress with a broad set of business stakeholders including engineering, marketing, executives, and other business units
• Go-to-market planning and coordination across Cisco organizations
• Development of marketing and sales collateral
• Lead contract negotiations teams from across Cisco businesses with stakeholders from alliances, legal, finance, manufacturing, product management, support, and services
Job Requirements
• 5-7 years of experience in product marketing or product management for computing systems, enterprise storage, or cloud services
• 3-5 years of experience managing other product managers
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Able to synthesize complex technical and market issues, develop insights into and solutions for those challenges, and gain acceptance and commitment from others
• Proven ability to manage diverse business goals, collaborate with partners outside the core business, and lead teams across decentralized organizations
• BSEE/CS or equivalent work experience
• Up to 25% travel out of the Bay Area
• Position is local to San Jose, California, with ongoing presence required in the office for team interaction and customer briefings
