Job Description
The Program Director is responsible for developing unit goals, objectives and Standards of Performance. The Program Director develops, coordinates and implements clinical and program activities directs the implementation and ensures compliance with JCAHO, Title 22, HCFA, Patient's Rights and other related agencies and standards which promote optimum health care delivery. The Program Director is responsible for coordinating performance improvement activities, addressing deficits, identifying new problem areas and developing plans of action. This position also hires, trains, supervises and evaluates program therapists. Develops and supervises orientation and staff development procedures and curriculum. Works closely with Intake and Admissions Department to ensure appropriate admissions and performs in-house assessments as required. Responsibilities include performing community outreach activities in coordination with the Marketing Department. Demonstrates leadership ability and interest in professional growth.

Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Makes routine employment decisions in hiring, orienting, supervising, and training program therapists and adjunct group leaders.
Makes effective recommendations in matters of hiring, commendation, promotion, transfer, discipline and termination.
Assists in planning, organizing and implementing an organizational structure which defines responsibility and authority for all categories of personnel.
Demonstrates good judgment when planning and scheduling staff to meet patient needs in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
Effectively utilizes staff within staffing guidelines and adjusts assignments according to daily changes in staffing.
Demonstrates good managerial judgment by conducting all aspects of supervision in a fair, firm, consistent and objective manner.
Recognizes the importance of the evaluation process and is timely with 90-Day and Annual evaluations, and discipline/commendation program.
Demonstrates knowledge of job description and holds subordinates accountable for responsibilities inherent to their position.
Develops and implements effective orientation and development of staff.
Promotes staff development. Counsels and encourages staff to work as a team in providing quality patient care at optimal efficiency.
Education:
Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology or related field.

Credentials: Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW /MFT or Ph.D./Psy.D by the California Board of Psychology required.

Experience:
Additional documented training in treatment of dissociative disorders, including a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience required. Minimum of five (5) years experience in a hospital setting, as well as three (3) years of management experience required. Must have experience in budgeting, scheduling and counseling.
