Director OEM Business Segment Panasonic Avionics Corporation Lake Forest

Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of the Panasonic Avionics business and relationship with OEMs and their customers. With and through subordinate managers, lead the business development, commercial relationship, product development, program management, system integration and entry-into-service support for Panasonic Avionics & associated third-party company products at assigned airplane manufacturers.

Major Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement a Corporate Business Strategy for New OEMs in partnership with Executive Team.
· Gain new product offerability on New OEM platforms in support of corporate product strategy, corporate and regional sales strategy and overall OEM Business Segment strategy.
· Identify, develop and implement potential strategic partnerships with New OEMs.
Manage commercial agreements between Panasonic and New OEMs and other associated third parties if required.
· Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with New OEMs in order to enhance ongoing business relationships.
· Develop and manage business segment profit and loss (P&L).
· Manage complexity of matrix management including corporate and regional functions involved in the planning, pursuit and execution of business at assigned New OEM airplane manufacturers.
· Manage facilities at New OEM remote office locations either directly or through staff.
· Define, staff, and develop the New OEM Business Segment Team.
· Lead, coach and develop the New OEM Business Segment Team members.
· Be fully accountable for development and management of departmental budget, resource planning, and performance management.

· Excellent communication skills as the incumbent needs to develop/express/represent the company’s position and policies at the highest management level within New OEM, the Airlines and other departments within the company.
· Excellent presentation skills with particular emphasis on ability to present to multi-cultural audiences.
· Able to communicate New OEM requirements within Panasonic and gain appropriate attention / resources to manage issues identified.
· Demonstrated leadership strength in developing and executing on company and individual objectives.
· Able to steer team to reach divisional goals through effective resource and time allocation and prioritization.
· Have collaborative management style, considering merits of ideas of the management team, of staff and of Panasonic corporate and regional stakeholders.
· Creativity: highly developed level of problem solving is needed to manage New OEM and customer demands.
· Complexity: innovative and pragmatic approach required as figurehead for Panasonic in resolving complex issues raised by New OEM.
· Resilience: manage personal effectiveness and demonstrate commitment, motivation and energy in the face of volatile or provocative situations.
· Flexibility: understand and appreciate different and potentially opposing perspectives on issues and bring about change to approach as required by situation.

Experience Requirements:

· 4-year Degree; graduate degree highly desirable.
· 10+ years progressive relevant management experience, preferably in airplane manufacturing and/or avionics, including understanding of, and experience functioning closely with all aspects of the business (Software, Hardware, Support, Finance, Marketing).
· Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new business segment strategy and managing P&L.
