Responsibilities
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis reports directly to the CFO and responsibilities include:
Reviews complex data and analytics from rolled up comprehensive sources for accuracy and provides high level summary information to support decision making process.
Defines the process for analyzing business results and providing information to support the decision making process.
Provides guidance to staff and / or team members on analysis, problem solving and decision making.
Makes decisions and recommendation to senior functional / business management that support business strategy.
Determines and sets business and functional reporting standards.
Oversees reporting process and ensures reporting is completed on time and w/out error Ensures business/dept standards for reporting are met as well as prepared in accordance with internal external guidelines and policies.
Establishes and oversees proper controls and compliance processes for a business, function, or process.
Stays abreast of changing requirements and communicates updates to functional or senior management.
Identifies compliance issues and communicates deviation to policy and procedures to mgmt and resolves issues and validate overall health of internal controls w/in span of control and communicates budget plans to senior divisional and /or corporate leadership.
Leads overall budgeting and forecasting processes.
Coordinates cross functional assumptions development and resource planning.
Establishes and schedules the planning process and ensures functional effort adheres to process requirements.
Fosters an organizational environment that values process improvement and sponsors efforts/supports functional initiatives to improve processes.
Represents area of functional expertise on cross functional teams.
Sets objectives and measures perform ace of business finance team and ensure team’s objectives and day to day activities are aligned with corporate and business unit objectives. Appropriately prioritize team’s projects and assignments.
Ensure team members are prepared for opportunities for advancement and sufficient bench strength exists w/in department.
Solicit and provide feedback on areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
Job Requirements
To Be Considered For The Director Of Finance Requirements Include
BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance with significant accounting knowledge. A Masters in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration highly desirable.
CPA highly desirable.
Minimum 10+ years previous Accounting or Finance experience with a minimum 5+ years previous supervisory experience over a large department (10+ employees).
Broad accounting and finance experience with exposure to a wide range of business functions & demonstrated leadership.
Demonstrated expertise with financial modeling as well as experience in a large manufacturing environment and prior business support experience required.
Exercises sound judgment, takes calculated risks, and makes risk/return recommendations.
Strong communication skills including presentation skills including the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.
Proficient in MS Office.
Familiarity with large automated integrated systems (SAP, JDE, etc) preferred.
Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
