Job Description
VMware's Integrated Marketing team is responsible for delivering integrating marketing strategies, plans and programs to drive the adoption of VMware's portfolio of products and solutions across targeted IT executive and practitioner audiences\. As a senior member of the team, the Sr\. Director of Strategic Messaging & Content will lead the development of strategic positioning and messaging for major VMware solutions and GTM initiatives\. You will work closely with key VMware marketing and executive stakeholders to drive VMware's corporate agenda and POV as an industry thought leader and strategic IT vendor\.
The ideal candidate is a well\-rounded marketing individual with expertise in solution\- and corporate\-level positioning & messaging as well as a wide range of executive and content marketing programs\. Functional areas of responsibility: • Develop succinct and compelling positioning, messaging and value propositions in support of VMware's strategic initiatives & GTM priorities • Drive the definition, development and execution of key messages, positioning and story lines, including hands\-on development by partnering with key marketing, business units \(BU\) and executive stakeholders • Work with a team of content marketers to create customer\-facing marketing content and assets \(white papers, presentations, etc\.\)
• Ensure messaging adoption and consistency across multiple marketing & GTM channels and programs \(events, VBC, field, partners, digital, etc\.\) • Primary areas of focus include: corporate messaging \(develop, evangelize and adapt VMware corporate story in conjunction with key subject\-matter experts and internal partners\)\. Strategic initiatives & programs \(such as Open Source, DevOps, Federation marketing & messaging\), and messaging for targeted industry verticals\. Skills and Qualifications • 10~15 years of experience in product and solutions marketing • Strategic mindset and critical thinking with demonstrated ability to take complex concepts, simplify them and create uniquely differentiated value propositions and executive content • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong storytelling and thought\-provoking, executive\-ready presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to speak knowledgeably, clearly and persuasively to a diverse range of internal and external audiences at all levels • Strong leadership skills with a highly collaborative and decisive approach • Interpersonal and organizational skills to lead, influence and work effectively with a broad range of peers and executives • Driven, high\-energy, self\-starter; comfortable working in a fast\-paced, dynamic, and high\-growth environment • MBA pre **Why work for our Division** The Marketing & Alliances teams play an instrumental role in helping to build VMware into a category\-defining company\.
