Senior Director Sales Development Cvent McLean

Job Description
Reporting to the President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, the Senior Director/Director of Sales Development will lead the daily activities and oversee the sales development team who manages our inside sales lead generation team of up to 150+ member’s company-wide. This role will be responsible for team member profiles ranging from 0-5 years of experience who are new leaders.



The Senior Director/Director of Sales Development will have a proven track record of planning, executing, measuring, and refining effective programs that support the goals of the sales department. This individual will manage, coach and support emerging leaders of the sales development organization. This individual will work closely with sales leadership and marketing to support specific lead generation initiatives, and will ensure that program goals are effectively translated into telemarketing campaigns that achieve those goals.

What You Will Be Doing

Coach and develop Sales Development in order to create action plans that maximize performance of sales associates

Provide team leaders with coaching, development training, and career pathing as well as guidance on how to become a more effective leader and manager

Work with division heads to align Sales Development goals with departmental goals

Strive to increase market share and support sales and marketing programs and other customer requirements to grow sales and strengthen relationships

Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives and quotas for the sales development organization

Monitor data capture and use of reporting tools to track performance, while providing accurate and timely management reports on team metrics

Conduct productive needs-based discussions with senior business leaders and coach Sales Associates

Lead recruiting efforts for sales associate positions at the college campus level and beyond

Work closely with the Director of Sales Training to execute Cvent University as well as all ongoing sales specific training

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or similar degree preferred

10-15 years of sales and sales management experience

B2B software industry experience highly preferred

Expert ability to reach qualified C-Level executives, generate interest, and set up follow on appointments for sales executives

Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

Demonstrated experience in effectively developing, managing and motivating members of the millennial generation

Ability to coach and develop world-class leaders

Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment

Innovative mindset to help analyze and improve work processes and advocate internally as well as externally

Ability to work with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Salesforce.com or similar contact management software

Ability to travel to Cvent’s India and UK office 1-2 times per year for 3+ weeks each time
