Job description
Duties
Responsible for leading the development and implementation of the online marketing strategies, programs and communications for existing customers. Will work cross functionally with internal and external partners including marketing, engineering, programming and agencies, to develop strategies and communication programs that drive and increase customer retention, self care and satisfaction. Will oversee the implementation of targeted initiatives and promotions through email, websites, direct mail and other content that are focused on driving profitable growth and increased awareness of DIRECTV's programming and products.
Additional duties include:
Working with marketing agencies to develop creative media strategies and collateral materials, including providing direction on company objectives and desired outcomes, reviewing and approving creative work and production costs and ensuring consistency.
Managing and maintaining the DIRECTV.com editorial calendar, including determining placement and timing of customer communication, self care and retention promotions.
Developing and implementing marketing tactics through multiple inbound and outbound customer service call centers.
Consulting to the sales and marketing organization by advising on on-line marketing issues, budgets and representing their interests with external partners.
Reviewing, monitoring and auditing invoices for accuracy and consistency with proposals and estimates.

Qualifications

Candidates must exhibit a passion for understanding the value of a positive customer experience and possess excellent organizational, project management, written/verbal communication and presentation skills. Requires at least 10-12 years of large-scale consumer on and off line marketing experience that includes at least six years in leadership roles and the proven ability to plan, create and organize major marketing programs with external agencies and internal creative teams. In addition, must have a strong working knowledge of direct marketing, internet, online and email marketing technologies and best practices along with the proven ability to think strategically, analyze issues and develop tactics to drive growth. An advanced degree, such as an MBA, and previous experience with media/entertainment and subscription-based services is preferred.

Candidates must have the proven ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams in highly dynamic environments along with the interpersonal, negotiating and diplomatic skills to effectively manage relationships with diverse internal and external contacts.
