Job description
The Managing Director for the Kellogg School of Management Chicago campus will be a senior leader to drive the strategy and support a distinctive student experience delivered on our downtown Chicago campus. This campus supports ~900 students and dozens of faculty members annually. The two dominant degree programs are our part-time (~800 students) and our MS in Management studies (~75 students) programs. In addition we support executive education programs.
Given the growth of Kellogg's MSMS program (up 3x over one year and expected to double or triple over time) and the changing nature of Part-time, we are in search for a leader who will own the strategy for the campus and to serve as the definitive senior leader for all students and team members. The part-time student life team and the MS in Management Studies team will report into this leader, who will in turn, report into the Associate Dean of MBA programs.
Specific Responsibilities:
Drive and deliver a vibrant strategy for the Chicago campus, home to two pre-eminent degree programs - Part'Time MBA and MS in Management Studies.
Lead a team of ~10 to support the growth of both degree programs: MSMS and Part-Time; partner with the Assistant Dean of Admissions and team to drive the growth in both programs.
Drive the energy and vitality of the downtown campus including driving engagement with current students, prospects, faculty, alumni and community members.
Ensure the campus runs as a world class facility in support of the faculty and student experience.
Act as a member of the degree operations leadership team and partner with peers in career management, academic experience and admissions to ensure a distinctive experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree required; an advanced business degree is preferred
A genuine passion for contributing to the transformation of a premier global business school that is operating in a rapidly changing environment; excitement about joining a best-in-industry senior management team; and a desire to work with a high-energy Dean who sets the highest standards of performance.
At least 10 years of relevant leadership and management experience, which could come from the for-profit, nonprofit, or education setting.
Strong team-based orientation; a personality that thrives in matrixed environments and enjoys partnering with fellow senior team members and faculty to achieve results.
An approach to staff management that brings out the best in team members yielding operational excellence, pride, ownership, and a deep commitment to Kellogg.

Superior communication skills and the ability to connect with a variety of audiences including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers; clarity, crispness and effectiveness in written and oral presentation.
The experience, ability and inclination to be an effective, inclusive spokesperson for Kellogg and Northwestern.
Exemplary interpersonal and listening skills; cultural sensitivity, particularly with respect to interfacing with global audiences via multiple media.
A keen eye for operational efficiency and optimal use of resources; an aptitude for use of data and metrics in decision-making; the ability to plan, monitor, and tightly manage a budget.
