Director Vans Creative Brand The North Face Cypress
Job description
The Vans Creative Director is responsible for the creative leadership and development of our global in-house agency. Responsibilities include leading the creative design team which is responsible for the full creative gamut, from conceptual design of integrated campaigns to retail point-of-purchase materials. This creative leader must have a proven track record of successfully managing diverse teams including art direction, copywriting, video and interactive across brand building and commerce platforms.
They must have skills in creating concepts that deliver for North America and have global scale in that the regional satellite creative teams rely on the central team for conceptual work. They are the steward of our brand and are responsible for our brand design language and personality. They partner closely with the Creative Services team who builds and manages the creative process; yet they must have a high attention to detail, deadlines and be highly efficient based on the demands of our growing brand.
Key Responsibilties:
Lead Vans visual brand representation in all areas, including marketing, sales, retail and product. Responsible for directing Vans branding in all channels.
Manages senior creative department personnel to develop concepts for overall creative direction in line with brand strategy and consumer insights.
Provide overarching direction on brand’s visual identity and create a global guideline that makes a meaningful impact on our global consumer base.
Partner with Creative Services to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with the highest quality creative.
Develop relationships with product development, retail, marketing and environmental design to ensure we are creating an integrated brand experience through our creative efforts.
Job Requirements
Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+
Educational/Position Requirements
BA in Art or Design; or ten years+ of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills
Deep understanding of an integrated creative department
Understanding of the culture of Action Sports and background in or passion around our additional pillars of art, music, street culture and fashion.
Inspire collaboration
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate creative ideas and rationales
An understanding of interactive design principles including UX
Experience in creating and leading multidisciplinary creative teams, across traditional, retail and digital media.
Proven experience as a team leader and manager of large, diverse teams.
Experience working in a high pace, dynamic, global environment.
High level of client focus—multiple experiences that they can site when they’ve exceeded client’s expectations, hit deadlines and delivered exceptional creative on brief.
