Job Purpose
The Technology Product Marketing Director is a senior marketing position within the ARM physical design group, reporting into and directly supporting the Vice President of Marketing. The candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of ARM’s materials and process technologies, competing industry standard and emerging technologies, benchmark competing technologies and roadmaps, determine market trends, generate and validate compelling value propositions, understand development costs, bridge technical and business issues, help determine pricing strategies, and model growth opportunities.
The candidate will also be heavily involved in supporting development of customer specific presentations and undertake product related MARCOM initiatives, including product sales collateral, news releases, industry whitepapers and other publications, and website related decisions. The candidate will be adept at understanding technical issues and their details, communicate effectively with internal and external teams of technical and business leaders and be able to synthesize technical implications to business and market needs.

This position requires direct engagement with the research & development, engineering and our sales organization to aid in the development of product strategies, technical presentations, and marketing materials to drive growth and profitability in the group’s technology licensing business across physical design product lines. This will entail developing targeted strategies for specific customer engagements and working with sales and marketing to execute on the strategies.

Role Responsibilities
Develop thorough understanding of ARM’ technologies, potential customers and
competitive landscapes
Identify and articulate compelling value propositions for product positioning with customers
Develop go-to-market (GTM) strategies for emerging and revolutionary technologies
Objectively evaluate technical capabilities, cost, competitiveness, and end markets for semiconductor related technologies through internal collaboration and customer engagements
Construct customer specific product / technology presentations for sales and marketing
Develop and create multi-level technology marketing materials to position physical design technologies with existing and potential customers
Build and support technology related MARCOM collateral and support website design / content
Understand customer and industry roadmaps to develop / synchronize our technology roadmaps and ensure alignment
Ensure complete and robust value propositions across multiple tiers of our technology solutions ecosystems
Work with technology, engineering and sales teams to develop high level product strategies to grow ARM physical design group’s technology licensing business
Engage operations and engineering teams in order to build cost models (e.g. activity based cost models) for products and benchmark them against competing and incumbent technologies
Investigate and understand product roadmaps for competing technologies and define product roadmaps for physical design technologies
Develop pricing models and strategies based on customer market segments and technology
Become a primary product technology liaison between the company and the customer
Conduct market analyses as needed in support of product marketing activities

Essential Skills & Experience
BS or equivalent in engineering, physics or materials science minimum
Minimum of 10 years’ in professional positions within the semiconductor industry of which minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior product marketing or business development position in semiconductor process technology, semiconductor IP, technology licensing or similar industry
Proven track record of successfully developing and executing technical marketing strategies for introduction of new technologies with a specific focus on the semiconductor industry
Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical leadership positions in development of semiconductor devices and/or process technology in foundries/IDMs
Solid understanding of technology licensing business
Must be able to travel up to 30% both domestically and internationally


Desirable Skills & Experience
PhD or equivalent in engineering, physics or materials science
MBA or equivalent business experience
2 years’ experience in leading Technology Licensing and contract negotiations with various global entities – commercial (including foundries or IDMs), academic and government
