Director Spiritual Care Augustana Care Minneapolis

Job Description
This unique role encompasses a senior campus lead role as well as an Augustana-wide role (in furthering spiritual care services across the organization.)

The Minneapolis Campus seeks a Director of Spiritual Care to provide strong leadership and overall management of spiritual care programming. The position supervises and provides leadership support to spiritual care staff and volunteers on campus.
The Minneapolis Campus includes: transitional and long-term care services offered at our 268-bed care center, and independent and assisted living services in our 335 unit senior housing complex. This position requires having a strong commitment to serving older adults, excellent people and leadership skills, and the ability to interface effectively with families, residents, and staff. The Chaplain will be called to carry out conventional chaplain responsibilities while being regarded as pastor by many of our residents. The pastoral duties will be the call to Word and Sacrament. Sunday worship is full worship, following the Church calendar and utilizing the three-cycle Lectionary. In addition, there are midweek chapel services and funeral/memorial services.

In the Organization Director of Spiritual Care role, this position facilitates and leads Spiritual Care leaders across Augustana’s locations in determining a vision and best practice for Spiritual care that is integrated into care models, staff development, fund development, and organizational identity.

Qualifications:
•B.A. or B.S. degree, Masters of Divinity degree. •CPE completion of 4 units, and rostered for ecclesiastical endorsement preferred, along with other requirements. •Ordained or commissioned by and in good standing with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. •The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience as a chaplain, and will possess excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
