Job description
The Director of Information Technology is a fearless leader who leads and manages all IT and telecommunications for Hawkins while maintaining a secure IT infrastructure in a 460 user environment across multiple business units throughout the US. With the support of an internal team capable of application development, technical infrastructure, IT support, networking, security, BA and DBA, the Director of IT focuses on planning and implementing upgrades in existing capabilities along with adopting new technologies to support company needs and growth.
Key Accountabilities Include
Strategic IT Business Support
Analyze information technology needs and priorities for management and functional operations that are aligned with the strategic direction and company objectives. Identify and prioritize technology projects estimating the scope, cost, and ROI of such projects. Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Ongoing Technology Support
Responsible for providing and maintaining all information systems supporting business transactions and processes. Ensure systems are reliable daily. Develop procedures for control of business systems, data backup, recovery and risk management support including disaster recovery planning. Direct project planning and coordinate implementation of all system upgrades or enhancement.
Information Technology Infrastructure
Review systems specifications to assess capability and compatibility. Maintain secure data and systems, and assure the integrity and reliability of all systems and tools. Manage all computer operations and communications support. Lead development of policies and processes that guide departmental operations to ensure timely resolution of issues as they arise.
Staff Management and Development
Manage the department and develop IT staff, providing day to day direction and feedback, personal coaching and technical and career development for the IT team. Structure department, lead, train and develop IT staff for maximum effectiveness and highest quality service. Ensures users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
Department Management
Evaluate and implement IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness. Prepare and submit budgets for the IT department. Direct acquisitions and lease of hardware, software, and services including servers, software licenses, etc. Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.Prepare periodic status reports to communicate IT department priorities, progress, and performance.
Process Improvement
Establish culture of continuous improvement to ensure department and underlying technology processes are reviewed regularly for effectiveness, developing metrics to measure improvements. Foster proactive process reviews and improvements by staff members.

Minimum Qualifications – Proven Success
Leading change within and outside the IT department

Minimum Requirements
10-15 years of progressive IT management experience including development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale programs.
5+ years’ experience in Project Management and execution involving major development projects and programs.
Bachelor’s degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Hands on experience with a major ERP solution (direct experience with JD Edwards ERP highly preferred )
Extensive knowledge and experience on the Microsoft stack
Strong business acumen
Supervisory and managerial experience managing staff of all levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills with non-technical personnel.
