Senior Director - Business Development - Cisco - San Jose


Job description
As Senior Director, Business Development for Cisco’s IoT Systems & Software group, you will be responsible for leading a team driving revenue growth in the growing Internet of Things (IoT) marketplace. The successful candidate will have significant experience driving revenue in growing businesses, including at large companies.
This position reports directly to the VP, IoT Systems & Software, and directly manages a global team as well as providing cross-functional leadership as part of the leadership team of the business.


Core Responsibilities

• Lead the business development team driving revenue growth, working to generate/close major strategic deals globally, as well as to leverage/enable global, cross-functional teams across Cisco to drive IoT revenue.
• Develop / drive / manage an active pipeline of deals to closure
• Develop and grow major partnerships to increase market access and revenue for IoT products
• Work closely with Cisco sales teams and partners to optimize growth, close major deals, and drive revenue growth
• Work closely with the channel and distribution teams to ensure that IOTSSG products are well positioned to drive flow business growth
• Work with the product management team to lead negotiations for larger opportunities
• Participate as a key leader of the business in contributing to our business strategy for growth
• Build effective relationships across Cisco to enable collaboration and appropriate leverage of Cisco’s broader capabilities in the IoT marketplace
• Work with key/strategic customers on large, strategic deals
• Hire, develop, and manage an innovative and dynamic team
• Work very closely with product management, engineering, and other functions to drive disruptive innovation other growth initiatives.
• Represent the IoT Systems & Software group in Cisco and Industry wide forums

• Demonstrated revenue growth leadership experience, including experience in global, matrixed large company environments.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve business objectives through effective prioritization, focus, and execution
• Demonstrated strong consultative skills in gaining understanding business challenges and engaging in joint problem solving
• Strong communication skills, active listener, ability to synthesize high level information
• Strong collaboration, influencing and facilitation skills. Proven ability to influence and lead outside of organization and across roles and functions
• Ability to motivate, engage, and develop high performing teams; ability to attract top talent.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required
• Minimum of 12 years of work experience in a senior business development/sales management position, leading teams
• Possesses proven and effective team leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with and through others and able to manage conflicting pressures and priorities while resolving complex issues.
